My fridge/freezer stopped working again late last night but, luckily, the freezer has stayed cold enough during the night not to defrost everything. Another twiddle and thump this morning got it started again !phew! I've got food in there for tea for the family as well as the week ahead so I need it to struggle on until tomorrow when I can ring the repair people again and try to get them to [STRIKE]shift their asses[/STRIKE] send a repair man :D

I do hope you can either get the repair chap out pronto, little_sweetie, or keep it going for now - what a waste otherwise!
So sorry to hear of your sad loss, wiggysgirl.

Hi everyone. Hope all the mums had a good Mother's Day. I had breakfast in bed (the thought was there even if the kids ate most of it!) and a very nice new shiny terramundi pot!!! It says on the label that if you only save £2coins it'll hold £1000!!! I don't think I get enough £2coins to fill it if it takes that much! I did empty my little money box as it was nearly full (it's very small) to put in there and found I had £10 in pound coins in there. I was very impressed! So that has started off my new shiny pot.

My old sealed pot is still going as well Sue so don't worry. That's actually sealed so I can't get in it so the money has to stay in there til December ;)

Hello there, starnac, lovely to see you - with a new pot too! I must admit to loving my terramundi. Good to hear of your youngsters sharing in your breakfast, so typical of the little treasures! :A

Sorry Barbeduk, I misunderstood you and thought you mean you had your money paid into the bank. Try not to worry though as budgetting well means less cash to pot, but it's more important you stick to the budget any day. I only get to save once a week as that's the only time we can go shopping, there's many of us in the same boat. Keep smiling and be happy. :)

I'm pleased your DD remembered Mother' day, Rosy, and a hug is worth so much, bless her.

Not another SPCer daring to pick up maybe, Delilahh.

You're right, Dincanada, every little bit helps in the long run, keep it going.

£320 for a set of headphones, mossy???? Thank Heavens they can be repaired!! All the best for you little one soon feeling much better,

Enjoy your day, folks, and do keep very warm and wrap up well.
    Sue x

Afternoon, fellow potters, hope everyone is keeping warm (brr) and hugs to those in need of them xx

Not much potting action last week as managed five NSDs in a row ;) good for the purse but nothing for the pot! But a fair bit of lovely loose change (didn't count but made a satisfying drop in the pot...) plus three lovely two pound coins for the cow pot yesterday and today.

Lovely Mother's Day with breakfast in bed courtesy of the kids... Grapefruit juice in a wine glass "because it's too early for real wine, mummy"!! :rotfl:

Day off work today as another birthday has rolled around (yep, 39, he he) and my lovely mum gave me some money to spend on myself so I enjoyed doing just that, feeling relatively guilt-free, lol. Hence all the odd bits of change today, so Prudence the Pot (inspired naming by my friend!) is feeling well fed ;)

But snow on my birthday, whatever next?! I'm freezing, sitting here in lots of layers and a blanket, and it's mid March!! Must be even worse for all you folk up north!

Keep warm and happy (hot chocolate will help on both counts, methinks...) :)

Well, Sue, I rang them this morning and they could get a repair chap out to me on Wednesday but I would have had to pay £91 over the phone then pay extra for any parts with no guarantee of a working appliance afterwards (and it's only 3 years old) I politely told them to[STRIKE] stuff [/STRIKE]forget it and rang a local chap instead. He was lovely! He looked up my appliance on the internet and talked me through a diagnostic. It's possible that if I switch off the appliance for 24/36 hours and restart it, then it might be ok. Brill, now...if we eat all the food before it spoils and try the switch off tactic...fingers crossed...it might work. AND no charge for the consultation. It's worth a try before I pay £171 for a new circuit board....

BTW Happy Birthday lindylou. Hope you had a brilliant day!

Couldn't do a proper food shop due to the fridge/freezer problem but have potted the change in my purse 60p

Have a lovely evening all x

PS I'm glad DD redeemed herself rosyq :A

Hi all, no potting today for me, needed the money for the tea fund at work. Never mind there's always tomorrow!
little_sweetie I'm sure you've tried this but just in case you haven't, is your freezer somewhere cold e.g. garage? I only ask cos Mum had a lot of trouble with her freezer couple of years ago, it's in her conservatory which faces north. After some repair attempts it turned out the conservatory was too cold! So the freezer kept cutting out. Something to do with the freezer being designed for a warm place e.g. kitchen and wouldn't work in the cold. Apparently you can buy special freezers designed to be kept in cold outhouses. Mad but true! So now when it's cold she puts a little heater near the freezer and it keeps it working. Hope that helps someone!
    Cheers Rx

I know!! In fairness he is a sound engineer so it's kind of essential equipment!! ;) He's had those for a few years.

DD is feeling a bit better, about to run her a bath and then send her to bed. We had to pick DH up from the train station this evening and it was an hour round trip, when it should have been 10 minutes, she started feeling ropey while we were out (probably all the sliding) wasn't sick thank goodness! :)
