    Hi Cazscash,

Sorry to hear about your Hubby, hopefully he will find a job soon, but you are most definitely welcome here! Sue will be along with your number soon but in the mean time start potting those spare pennies and have a quick read of the first post.

I would competely recommend subscribing to this thread (it's my mantra now I think!!). You can do this using 'thread tools' in the green bar above the posts. This not only makes it soooo much easier to find us again, but you can opt to have emails sent which for me work as a great gentle reminder. I have nearly reached my total amount for last year already this year and the only difference is that this time I subscribed.

It is an amazingly snowy day here today. The snow is really coming down but Hubby left for work at 5am (that's a late day for him) so it wasn't snowing then. Not sure he will make up the hill to get home but we'll see.

I potted over £1. I have lost count now so time to alter the siggy for the surprise I will get at the end of November hehe!

    Keep safe and warm everyone.

Hi, I'd like to join the sealed pot challenge! Money is tight this year with hubby out of work. Need to learn how to budget again.

Hello! Welcome to the thread! Sue-uu, our lovely leader will be along soon to allocate you an SPC member number which you can proudly pop on your signature for all to see :) All you have to do is read post #1 carefully so that you know the rules of potting (quite simple really...otherwise I wouldn't understand them :rotfl:) then get yourself a sealed pot (to remove temptation to peek or spend) and away you go. I know from experience how hard it is when hubby is out of work so do pop in here regularly for help, advice and a few belly laughs too, 'cos most of us are mad as hatters :D and a couple on here are really naughty too (yes, you know who you are....:)) Most of all enjoy saving.....

I was supposed to meet DD and GC yesterday to see a panto but couldn't go as the weather was so bad ( I had a ticket too ) I had a shiny £1 coin in my purse which I have potted. I expect I saved at least that on petrol but it's all the change I have at the moment.

I made a warming cider veggie hotpot last night for DH to come home to :A and there's actually some left which I can have for lunch, then I feel a bit of baking coming on....Stay warm everyone and hugs to all the poorly people with tonsillitis, colds and so on. Hope Miss Lily is better at last jakes-mum

    Happy potting! x

PS Sue-uu I've sent you an email.

  • Woo Hoo! Getting the hang of this now, just potted 20p I found when emptying the washing machine which I normally would have just left on the side for one of my children to claim.

Really snowing here too Wyre, so having a day snuggling on the sofa and trying to ignore whats happening outside :-)

Well my cold has well and truly set in so a day on the sofa for me.

Sue - my crochet project is a ripple cushion cover. If it turns out okay I'm gonna try a blanket too :)

As I shall not be going out today I'm gonna put £1 in the pot - making me feel better already :D

Hope everyone else is doing okay, it's really snowing here again and has been for the last few hours.

So sorry to hear about your hubby, cazscash, I do hope he's soon able to find work. :) Always keep spending to a minimum, never bye anything unless you 'need' it, if it's a case of 'wanting' it then leave it there as you probably don't! Have a look at "Old Style Moneysaving" board and at all the threads there for cheap meals and living, see here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=33

Best wishes to you both! x
It's my Birthday tomorrow and I'm going to the Cinema to watch the new Les Mis Film....and a Meal....so I might have some change leftover to come and Pot... :T

I AM perkier Sue....Just getting there slowly, day by day....trying not to overthink things....and I'll get there!! :)

That's the spirit, Helen, it never pays to try to analyse things..unless they are changeable - there's just no point! You have a wonderful day tomorrow, make it all about YOU, as you deserve it! Enjoy the meal and Les Mis, what a fantastic combination! :grinheart

You've got it in one, Footie! So...keep your eye on the ball!! I know a shocking pun, but....! ;)

I've updated your Target, Missy1984, all the best with it..or going over! :)

Excellently put, Wyre, and another gold star for that encouragement to all. :staradmin

Oh what a rotten shame, little_sweetie, will they not consider that and help folk out? A bit mean if they don't all things considered. I know how you love them...another time? Hope so. ;) Lets have some of that soup!!! :p BTW, I got it, thanks.

Well done, beccah...you'll soon be on your way to making your millions. Lucky you with the snow, keep safe!!!

Shame about the cold, curly, but at least you can indulge in your crochet, though it sounds a bit beyond me! It'll be good to see a photo one day perhaps. No snow here, just a sort of drizzle/sleet.

Bad luck, LC 2, though YOU too old for that? Never!! What some prices though or is that a Liverpool 'careful with the cash' thing! :rotfl:
BTW, Sue and sparky are.ermmmm just lovely. :grinheart:grinheart Well, we think so.
Enjoy your day, folks, and keep warm, safe too to those with added snow!
