Update
Got to White Rose, Leeds at 6.45 and was No 21 in queue. People has been there since 4.30, but we think becuase it was a later opening store people had gone to others in the area. They supplied us with hot drinks and let the lucky 30 wait in the foyer to stop other joining the queue. It was like you had won the golden ticket in Charlie and the chocolate factory. We had a newspaper reporter waiting with us and she phoned her storey in as we waited. Cannot praise the store enough, they were very effient and watched the queue closely for jumpers (we had none). Not selling mine, have used it for work today and had 3 people stop me and ask me where I got it from already. Very chuffed.
I was spitting feathers at Leeds this morning - not just because I didn't get a bag but because they let a queue build up outside without saying anything about all the bags being allocated! Got there at 8.15 and saw people locked in the foyer bit but the talk outside was that they were staff who had come off shift and were queuing just like us. Staff in uniform were wandering around inside and couldn't miss the queue building outside but didn't have the decency to tell us the bags were all allocated until 8.55 when the store opens at 9. The guy who gave the news, when challenged, said that people could have been queuing to do a normal shop! For 45 minutes? I don't think so! :mad:0 -

Feel very sorry for this seller.........fees on £5000.....
Is there no way of removing auction once people have bid on
Also like the quote on the auction...."Celebrities from Kiera Knightley to Alicia Silverstone have been photographed with these bags". Should read Keira Knightley AND Alicia Silverstone0 -
For anyone who thinks sainsburys staff got priority, we didn't. I would have liked one but was already at work there at 5.30 before most of you were even queueing!Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

AAAwwwwww, that's lovely, havent the men in this country earnt their brownie points today? If you decide to sell, I hope you get some lovely things, and if you give it to your friend.......well....that's just the nicest thing you could do to cheer her up, either way, enjoy your bags hun xxx :j :Ashaileytuff wrote: »feel very happy as got 1 (2 actually read on) wasn't going to go even though local had 90 bags they said they had taken hundreds of calls about it, mum called me from the queue at 7.15 to say she was No 38 so i left 2 kids with brother and dashed there at 7.35 i was No 46 in queue so got my bag very happy:T
Only for hubby to call me at 9ish to say (bless him) on his way to work at 7.20 he past his local sainsburys (penge, london) only for there to be 8 people in the queue so he decided to join and he got me one! Now hoping he won't mind if i give it to my friend who desperately wants one and is having a bad time, although he did say if i sold it i could use the money to get a nice pair of shoes or some clothes bless himThis above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man. well i got one from Northfield (Birmingham) and thought it was all handled properly and fairly.. got there for 6:30 ..was issued with tickets at 7am.. then bought the bag at 8am..
one woman who turned up at 7:45 was not happy when she found out they were all sold.. and walked off in a strop. lol0 -
Another member of the Nottingham Castle Boulevard posse here..no. 44..arrived at about 7am

Have to agree that it was well handled and very civilised there (athough it would have been nice if they'd opened Starbucks early for us).
There were even some folks from local radio there. They were actually just queueing for bags for themselves, but still had bumper stickers and lip balms to hand out - how thoughtful...freebies!! :j0 -

ps. Im using mine because I like it, not to sell it, or to make anyone envious, simply, to reduce the amount of plastic carrier bags I use, as per principle. x
Yes, sorry, the edit did come over a bit harsh. You were amused by the behaviour of the unsuccessful rather than their lack of success. Anyway, glad you got your bag - I use those big ones from Aldi which are only £1!Can I help?0 -
I was in that queue at white rose this morning, got there before 6am. there were a total of four sanisbury's staff in that foyer, they had been there since 4.30am, queueing outside in the cold like the rest of us. I use this store frequently as I live locally, and it is common for people to wait outside for the store to open - thee staff woulden't have seen anything out of the ordinary with a few people waiting outside the doors.siamese0109 wrote: »I was spitting feathers at Leeds this morning - not just because I didn't get a bag but because they let a queue build up outside without saying anything about all the bags being allocated! just to add we didn't actually get inside until almost 8.30. I remember cos I checked the time on my phone just as we were going in, we had been told that we'd be allowed in at 8am and some people were getting a bit narky that we were made to wait longer before being allowed inside and given a ticket
my bag is staying with me. I don't care how much they're going for on ebay, I dragged myself out of bed at a time I didn't even know existed and stood there for over three hours because I love the bag and want to use it, not make some easy money
