This thread is going great, everyone still really motivated, lets keep it up as long as possible. I am stuck at £100 as just spent a not so lovely figure on a lovely new tv for my house, tumble dryer to follow.....so roll on the 18th Jan, first pay for 2013, will try to stash £500 of it away!:eek:Living frugally at 24

Well done BBB! You must be sooo chuffed.
Small successes on ebay and Amazon plus returning bits and bobs not needed/faulty from Christmas stuff has netted perhaps £45 which is handy, and got paid for work done so long ago I'd almost forgotten about it, which is lovely. But the taxman cometh on 31st jan so I need to keep that aside and think about July too. New school stuff has been a major spend too tho shoes in sale were an amazing result, so the dearer ones I ordered (in 3 sizes!) can go back, also lovely.
I'm finding this thread really inspiring and supportive, thanks everyone. All the different stories and approaches are so interesting!0 -

Great news Bessie, what a great start to the year!
Just got £100 for changing bank accounts and £32 Topcashback, but need to buy a new fridgefreezer so that's more than wiped that out. Such is life!:DSave £12k in 2022 thread #7:

I've just opened the First Direct 1st Account which pays £125 after the first 3 months and upon depositing £1500pm. There's a £10 charge per month if you can't reach this figure but if it's anything like the Halifax Reward you can just transfer amounts between accounts until you reach £1500 deposited
I m opting for the Regular Savers account too, 8% for the first year, maximum £300 deposit every month
must have the 1st Account to open the savers.
I'll keep my Halifax Rewards account and move money around my account to pass the £1000 mark to still receive £5 a month
