OK, I've been paid early so I'm declaring for the year.

I managed to save £1,030 in December, so that brings my yearly total to £11,927 - and my overall savings total to £74,127.

    I'm disappointed that I didn't save the full £12,000, but hey - I did ok! :)

Good luck to everyone who still has to update, let's get over the £900,000 mark!

    Merry Christmas and here's to a super-saving 2014.

Went on a ski-ing trip to a posh expensive resort and as a result of that have had to withdraw £3000 to put on my credit card!

December payday and as always during December we get paid a bit earlier, this has created a 6 week month until January payday! We will be able to manage no worries but I want to dip into my savings as little as possible.

I have bought a new kitchen for the house we are moving into and the £750 Christmas Bonus I have received has been swallowed up by that, I am also having some plastering done (mates rates) and I'm also redecorating all the rooms. Not ideal over the festive period but it is what it is and needs to be done.

Also frustratingly the cooker in the house we are selling, so that will need fixing before moving out in a few weeks (fingers crossed)

Ending the year on a lower amount than usual but still happy with £750 saved this month, £500 into the new house fund and £250 into my regular saver.

January onwards should kick off with an almighty bang as when the house sale is completed we will obviously wont have a £750 mortgage payment every month so during months where we could usually save £1250-£1,500 we should be able to save £2,000+

I'm heading straight over to sign up for the 12k in 2014 Challenge!

    Merry Christmas everybody!

Final update; £1000 in December. Overall £11,500 this year, with a target of £10,000, plus £6000 of furniture etc spends which I hadn't planned.

I'm sure I wouldn't have done so well without the motivation of this thread, so thanks to you all, and especially slowlyfading. It's been really interesting reading how you are all getting on.

All the best to you all, and here's to meeting up on the new thread next year. Merry Christmas everyone!
