Payday and it's a 5 week month from now so hopefully will be able to budget accordingly! I am declaring £250 into my regular saver, £600 from myself & Mrs MM into the 'new house' fund and an extra £297.52 into my savings.
I have car tax to pay this month of £175 so I am setting that aside, We have booked a week in Tenerife in Mid-June and also have to pay for the week in Sea Palling this month and I have a weekend in London watching The Stone Roses so a very expensive month planned so all the above I have set funds aside and am not declaring the extra savings, hence the reduced amount this month!
Therefore a grand total of £1,147.52 this month!Millionaire in Training

Nice
We are going to California next year and I hope to be able to pop to San Fran for a few days. Chances of me being back there again in my lifetime are slim. Want to make the most of it. How exciting for you. It will be so good to see your sis again and spend some time with her.

May seems to be a month of surprises for a lot of people here. I have just looked at my accounts and Santander have paid me another £21.61 in interest on my cash ISA.
Will go and throw some serious money into my mortgage at lunchtime whereafter I can make an assessment if there is any money left to add to the savings pot this month. After that I plan to put a serious word in to the whoever regulates the weather. We could do with some warmth and sunshine:D:D!
See ya later,
Now my savings are starting to snowball I am beginning to look forward to 'Interest day' every month, should easily clear £20 this month and although obvious I see it as an easy £20 less to save!Millionaire in Training

Well I've spent a lot of money this month - but I don't actually feel bad about it as most of the spending has been covered by 'budget pots' I set up last year in different piggy bank accounts. The big item has been football season tickets renewals - £2445 for 3 renewals. I pay for DS & DD's tickets as they have no money to speak of and we enjoy going to the match together. They do accept that it constitutes their birthday & christmas presents combined. It also means that I see them both at least every fortnight without fail. DD is living away at university, but she comes home at the weekend to watch the match. I suppose I mention all this because I do believe that savings involves setting priorities in relation to what makes your life meaningful. I know that people might think that spending so much on football is extravagant, but for our family it is something we enjoy doing together and that makes it an essential for me. I'd cut back on other things (clothes, food & holidays) before the football.
I've been reviewing my spreadsheet of allocated pots and how they square up with current year spending to date. Interestingly, the one area where I am massively overspent on projected budget is dentists costs. Reading other recent posts in this thread it seems that I'm not alone. Perhaps this reflects dentists putting up their costs by more than inflation? Well even if we don't all fully reach our savings targets by the end of the year, we should have nice smiles0 -

Thinking over whether or not to buy a new tv for bedroom and a summer holiday!! Would much rather have this year for all out saving, already decided against spending the money from sale of motorbike!! 2nd bedroom in house finally finished being insulated, replasterboarded, plastered, decorated and new carpet!! Aswell as radiator sorted and cleaned up!! Making progress but it does annoy me when see little expenses mounting up, keeping me from hitting my already decreased, £15,000 total!! I will be doing well to get near that now!
I have about £5,500ish with Junes bills to come out in advance...so i can then save every penny i make next month!! Aim is finish May at £4,000+ and then save at least £3,000 in June so be at £7,000 end of next month! Just shy of halfway, at the halfway point of year! July is the big earning month for me, 3 weeks off, paid holiday and im doing own jobs for most of that time off, so will maybe see a £5,000 salary income month if i organise my clients right!!!:eek:Living frugally at 24
