. But well done to everyone again this month.

This month is looking rather lean on the savings front as i'm remortgaging to a cheap 5-year fixed and want to pay the fees up-front rather than roll them up in the mortgage. Long-term it all makes sense, and will save me more than £4k in the three years the existing mortgage had to run and chops four years off the term too, but short term it means that there's not much cash for anything else this month
Not going too badly this month, despite the remortgage. We've had a few small bits and pieces extra coming in this month, not massive amounts (£15, £25, £30ish) but they're all getting tucked into savings before they're spent and that has kept things ticking up. Up to £747 so far for May with the £300 regular saver still to go, so turning out much better than i'd expected, only a couple of hundred quid away from the halfway point now.0 -
I'm chuffed as I've made £72 on fleabay this weekend less fees, and it was all stuff I was either going to throw or give to charity! I will transfer it over to savings later.Pay off all your debts by Christmas 2025 no. 15 £0/69490

Ooh, good month for me - a bit of very rare overtime and interest on my ISA. So £2250 this time, wish I could do that every month!
Well done everyone - almost half way. And welcome to all late starters - this is a great forum for encouragement and keeping on the straight and narrowSave £12k in 2022 thread #7:

Hallo all,
I cannot update until payday, but don't anticipate much for savings this month. I plan on overpaying my mortgage at the end of the week which, I suppose, also eventually translates into a form of saving.

Payday friday! Can't wait to see how much I can put away this month, hopefully it's a decent amount.
I have a friend's birthday coming up and thankfully I've been able to make up a lovely gift for her from gifty bits and bobs I've already got in the cupboard. Very pleased!
I used to work near a tesco and I was always able to grab a few clearance items on my lunch breaks to stock up my "present cupboard" throughout the year to make gifts much cheaper. However, since changing jobs I now work away from any shops so my present cupboard is becoming bare!I think I may head to the shops this weekend to see if I can seek out some bargains for future pressies! This is one of my favourite ways of saving money

Well I thought this would be a dry month savings wise but I've had a few monetary surprises.
First Direct have given me my joining incentive, so £125 in the pot today. My fleabay sales have blown me away, especially the copy of Empire magazine which sold for a massive £17, so all in all that was £79 in the pot. I received a cheque out of the blue for £59 from Equitable Life, although I had to send it back as it was in my old name...I may get it by the end of this month but we shall see.
I also decided to get all my money affairs in order this week for some unknown reason. I started by looking at my teeny tiny pension from Tesco which has been hanging around for the last 20 years doing nowt. After posting on the pension board and spending hours trying to understand pensions (Google may not be the government's friend at the moment, but it certainly is mine), I have come to realise that I need the services of a financial adviser. Hopefully this IFA, who has done a lot of work for my OH in the past, will be able to help out.
While trying to sort this out I came across some old share certificates I have with Mr T which I had forgotten about. I looked on the website and discovered that all my dividends have been reinvested in shares and I now have over 200 of them. If I sold them it would boost my savings a lot, but I'm still undecided what to do. Still it was a nice surprise.
Keep going everyone and OH says hiPay off all your debts by Christmas 2025 no. 15 £0/69490
