Hi everyone
Can I join please?
I am on the debt free wannabe board too but keen to get in to the savings habit.
Bit about me:
I have 2 jobs - one full time and one for 1 w/e night only (bar work)
I have NO SAVINGS at all (eek!)
I got my additional work in 2012 , And have been using that this year to get my debts under control and more manageable
I am now in a place where my debts can be paid off from my full time salary and therefore wish to save my bar work income.
I wish to therefore save all this additional income to a) get into savings routine ready for when I am debt free and b) have some emergency funds!
On e debt free board I am also on the sealed pot challenge/£2 saving pot/£20p saving pot... These will not be counted in this challenge. They are for Christmas pressies/ treat myself at xmas next year!
Okay so how much am I going to save? ... £3,000
Thank you for taking time to read my post. I can't wait till 2014 when I can just be a saver and not in debt as well !Started again 25th December 2017
Current tracking - £7,955.84/ £18,282.25 to pay off. (31.12.19)0 -

I'd very much like to join as I am hoping for a bit of motivation from this. Could you add me for £10k please.
Also, how do investments work with your totals? For example, I have a SIP with work that I put £125pm in. Would I just use this purchase price or do I have to work out the profit/loss as and when I need to update my sig? Cheers :-)"Chuck Norris can remain solvent for longer than the markets can remain irrational"0 -

i would count just what i put in and then when you get an annual statement or something similar, update then with gains/losses.
i personally couldnt do this, the growth i have seen in my pension etc.. makes me wanna cry!IF YOU THINK YOU ARE SO CLEVER, THEN WHY ARE'NT YOU RICH?

Hi slowlyfading,
I've been concentrating on debt repayment for the last two years, so not had a chance to save. But that's all going to change in 2013! Please put me down for £12,000. (eek!)
Look forward to the challenge!

Hi,
I'd like to join as well, please... My savings are non-existent at the moment. My husband and I got married last month so it's past time to start building up a safety net - especially if we're thinking about kids in a couple of years.
With my direct debits set up, I should save around 8k as long as we don't go crazy and blow it; but I'm going to try and push myself a little more and set my target as 9k.
So £0/£9,000 and the journey begins...0 -
Hopefully got a new job which will mean a nice increase in my monthly wage! If this happens I will definitely be upping my target for next year! Finger crossed0
