I've saved quite a bit this month. Most of it to fully top up my cash ISA. Feeling very proud :j

Aww no! That's rubbish :( At my work we try to get missives signed really quickly in this day and age to avoid things like that as best we can. What a shame for you.

Thanks girlsatplay. I used to be terrible with money, and have only in recent years started to have some savings so it was a big blow to have a large chunk of my financial safety net taken away by this. Just have to start over.... :)

Doing better than expected for the year so far! Really happy :) and well on target! Thanks again for your hard work with this thread, and to everyone involved - it's actually a great motivator and inspirational to read through this thread.

I'll need to borrow £150 from my savings but as its for a pram I don't feel too bad (especially as its such a great deal!!) Plus compared to the £650 i was going to spend, its a fantastic saving!

It sounds even more moany than the above, but I guess I'm finding it hard to motivate myself where it's not too much effort to save for the short-term goals (a long weekend away, a gift to someone for a special occasion) but the long-term goal is soooo far away. Maybe I need to invent new challenges.

My ex-partner used to laugh at me when I saved up small amounts (he said it's only a small amount, why bother?) only to get green with envy when it had accumulated into a credible amount. It may feel like slow going (you will need patience), but every small amount you save adds up. What helps is making milestones, i.e. surpassing the 50 mark, then the 100, 1,000, 1,500 and so on. By the end of this year when you have achieved your goal _party_, let's meet for a drink to celebrate :coffee:! (sorry, could not find a chapagne flute ...) :D

Unfortunately I'm down on savings this month as I have decided to just pay off the small amount of outstanding debt I have. My number should start increasing from this point on, though!

Thanks, saving is all new to me so your right any savings is better then nothing. I'm just gonna do little and often and what ever I get will be be brilliant. :o

That is definitely the right way to go about it...this time last year I had shocking debts on my and DH's credit cards. I would have been happy to be able to save ANYTHING! Things are a bit easier this year, but I still really appreciate any amount saved. Keep on going Saver88 :j

  • Moved over a little bit more today so up from end of febuary total of £2,100(ish) to over £2,800....aiming to get another £1,000 into savings this month to set me on course to be quater way(£5,000) to target in the 4th month, April! And summer is best time of year for me, who knows I might just make this ambitious target early!
