Reporting back for the first time in 2013, and it's £1,625.71 for January and February. It should be a bit higher if I'm honest!
On the other hand, HMRC seems to have messed with my tax codes resulting into an extra £100 a month tax paid so hopefully solving that will mean we get a bit of extra cash. We also finally got our deposit back from previous landlord (from six months ago, only because we used a tenancy dispute service) so that's £400 going in the March kitty.
Still feeling a bit sad because my saving seems pretty constant and I realise that the problem is not how much I save, but how low my income is. (It's not that low. It's just low for putting together a deposit).Saving £10,000 in 2013: £4491.48/£10,0000 -

Don't worry too much, you will be absolutely amazed how quickly it all accumulates. Rather save longer to get together a hefty deposit which will help you in the long run. Chin up and keep saving!

Thanks Susanne, a hug is exactly what I needed! Even though not for any particular reason.
It sounds even more moany than the above, but I guess I'm finding it hard to motivate myself where it's not too much effort to save for the short-term goals (a long weekend away, a gift to someone for a special occasion) but the long-term goal is soooo far away. Maybe I need to invent new challenges.Saving £10,000 in 2013: £4491.48/£10,0000 -
Just popping on to declare £700 for February. It's down on what I would have liked to have saved, but I had a spontaneous trip to Madrid for a long weekend instead! I've got some overtime coming so March might be better for savings...except that I'm going on holiday...so it might be worse![STRIKE]Debt Jan 09 = £10,046[/STRIKE] Debt-free since 16/12/2011

Can I join!?
Hubby and I are determined to get a good deposit for a house, we are aiming for 10% so about £18,000. In reality we are going to aim to save £9000 this year. I have £5300 already and saved £800 this month which I think is going to be a struggle to be honest!
So with £800 off my £9000 goal, I have £8200 left to save :T0 -
Ok I've updated the form for feb, I managed to save a big fat.....0!!! I've lowered my goal to £3000 which hopefully is more realistic for me although will still be a struggle. March is looking better with one thing on eBay already up to £80 with 3 days left :T

I'm on a right saving mish this month, so far I've put £400 away and have a few listings on eBay. I was quite happy that there were no special occasions to fork out for this month(apart from easter but eggs would come out the grocery budget) but a family friend has passed away so I've bought flowers and will probably have to buy suitable clothes for a funeral. There's always something!2025 Mortgage start £378K 2025 Overpayment £103 Savings Challenge 2025 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0
