Thank you, I appreciate your advice. me and DH do have a few debts but not thousands so it doesn't feel too bad. I'm paying them off as I go, two payments a month to get them gone quicker. I have two children under two who are growing so quickly so money's always going somewhere lol. I'll get there in the end."sealed pot challenge" member 082 6-£450 7 £860 banked :staradmin :staradmin

My weekly update, saved just over £67 so far this month, but not bad for only 5 days!
Getting a few sales on eBay, gumtree and local selling page on Facebook so my sales are slowly topping up!
Also used some of my Tesco Rewards to buy some Mother's Day flowers so that has saved me £12! And when you spend the vouchers it feels like you are not really spending money anyhow as it was never in your account!Grocery Challenge 2019 YTD-£820.46/£7200(11%)

I have saved £129.43 so far this month! £63 of that was because I changed my bank details and because my SP energy account is in credit they have decided not to take this month's DD. I double checked with them that they are definitely not taking it for March and then swiftly transferred it into savings. More to come later in the monthMortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
Mortgage today = £161,690.76

As another Londoner I agree with Susanne's advice. I'm in the same position. Try for much smaller targets and track your progress. As long as you seen the numbers going up, you'll get there eventually0 -
Just realised there is £100 in my account that I have been paid that I wasn't expecting so soon! I now find myself in the position having not really bought any new clothes, trainers, CD's,DVD's etc this year that I could use it to splash out a little bit!
So...I am declaring an extra £100 into the savings pot!

Have managed to swap some accounts around, setup some new ones, get some cashback and have upped my monthly interest to just under £150 PCM. Taking the total monthly average from £1666 to £1516. This should make my yearly goal of £20K very achievable indeed!
Can't help but think if I didnt go on a few holidays this year, I would be so much better off, but for me I need to have that work/business / social life divide. Last year, I focused so much on saving and investing and working really hard at my job that I was getting really stressed out and unhappy with life. I think as good as it is to save, im not going to sacrifice having fun and enjoying life for it.0 -

Which can be a good thing though as help you to save more! Am I right in thinking you are quite young? Reason asking is I'm 21 and away to pay down mortgage at an extra £5-6k a year so over 5 year fix it will comedown at least 25% of mortgage amount (£100k mortgage)
These overpayments along with saving on side will get next place in 4 or 5 years!:eek:Living frugally at 24
