Morning LL - WellDone on your payments and hope you are feeling a little better.
As a suggestion to your question, after you clear Mint off in Feb - why not save that money and use the rest as normal to pay off your cards, and once a month do a little top up to your savings - upto the next £ or something similar - Just an idea :-).

Anyway hope your having a great weekend x

    hi aamberle,

thanks for your suggestion. have done some jigging of my spreadsheet & i think thats what im going to do. i already save £100 p/m and was going to be just adding the £100 from my mint payment to my 2 ccs but instead going to:

    Virgin:£200
    Barclays: £70
    Savings £200

so should build up a bit of a cushion for when baby comes.

alsob uying everything 2nd hand as just can not afford to buy everything brand new so that will all help. and will become a bit of a challenge to my self to see how cheap i can get decent stuff:)

  • Morning LL,

Your plans for extra savings sound great.

Think I might do something like that once I am out of the overdraft. Can't wait. Having savings of any sort will be a really great feeling.

Sun is shining today, hope you are having a good start to the week and not feeling to sick xx
  • my sickness was ok over the weekend. Either it was a fluke, or because iwas eating breakfast that helped. so this morning ive had two slices of fruit loaf & i feel fine. :)

all my rent from the lodger is going into savings as well (rather than the new carpet in the bedroom and things like that which are wants not needs)

great plan Steph for savings when you are out of your overdraft.

This month will be month 2 ending int he black :D

  • Hi Loz, congratulations on the baby! My birthday is September 11th and I get an occasional "what an awful day to have a birthday!", but otherwise it's fine! On the upside no one ever forgets my birthday :D Xx

    hi please-let-me-be-lucky

Thank you :) i know no one is gonna forget my due date haha.

Money wise no change really. Hubs has a private job on this week so a bit of extra cash. he's building up a bit of a fund for him...then paying as much to me & the baby fund as poss. i think this is the best way to do it because then he has a fall back if he is out of work so makes sense :)

Morning LL - Hope all is well and things are ticking along just nicely?
We had yet more snow here overnight - so will be out again later clearing the drive, although it saves money as I hate driving in snow - so I walk everywhere..lol.
Anyway have a great day x

  • Hi LL,

Fantastic news about getting rid of the Mint loan at last :D

I got paid early this time too, we normally get paid on the last Thursday of every month, so was a bit of a surprise when I logged on to the online banking this morning :)

    Have a good day x
  • Morning LL

What great news that you have paid off your loan :T:T.
One less thing to worry about.
You seem to be steaming ahead, well done on keeping to your usual payday dates. Being paid early can really trip you up the next month if your not careful :).

Keep going. Your doing great xxx
