Snackage, lol... that's the exact kind of phrase I'd use - good to see someone else does that kind of thing, not just me :D We bought snacks and Chrimbo meat in the Nov-dec grocery funds so we're now just needing fresh for Chrimbo and 'normal' food stuffs (or slightly different bits to help us use up the leftovers)

    Oh my ... you're talking about me!:o
I can't get it to autosum recognising a minus or in positive amount, so I have to do it with my calculator.

How are you showing the negative figure in the column?

If you have all the columns adding up on autosum, as long as the negative figure is added as such then it should add up OK - something like the following:

I do separate columns for ins and outs like a bank statement and one row per item, and have a balance column. So I have columns called Date, Item, In, Out, Balance on my Current account sheet. The formula for the balance column is something like =E5(balance from row above)+C6(amount in)-D6(amount out) and place this in E6 for the next row's balance, then copy the formula down the E column for the updated balance for each item row whether in or out. This goes down to end of December 2016 for me because I'm working on a 4-5 year financial master plan to cover my DFD, transferring all direct debits to a new joint current account (on its own sheet), starting a cash ISA etc. I'm working on the assumption that my salary won't change, but I've added in projected increased annual travel costs, and HMRC changes in personal allowances on 5th April each year based on what they have on their website.

It was a challenge trying to work out how my minus figure overdraft balance could be added onto my summary monthly debt sheet when my creditcard balances are recorded as positive figures on their own sheets. Then I realised to transpose my overdraft balance for the day before payday, I had to turn it into a positive figure for the summary debt sheet alone, with the formula=ABS('Current'!E6). That way if I add an extra £20 ATM withdrawal into my Current sheet before the final day-before-payday cell and copy the balance formula from the row above to cover the new row AND the one below it, it automatically updates my overdraft figure on the summary debt sheet.

I've also set up the summary debt sheet to recalculate the % debt reduction I've achieved that month the closer I get to my DFD. I have one row per calendar month, with the different debts having their own outstanding balance column to auto-update from their own sheets. My projected interest each month on creditcards isn't exact although I do use the APR they show on the previous statement's balance less my intended payment. The projected interest they state on the creditcard statements is only correct for the following month if I only pay off the minimum amount, and as I always overpay I need to amend the interest and balance manually to the penny. That then recalculates down the rest of the creditcard sheet and brings me closer to paying it off completely.

In essence I'm overestimating the interest I'm paying, and it's corrected on a monthly basis from the actual card statements. As the interest they've actually added on each card goes down, so the % of total debt I've paid off goes up on the debt summary sheet. The closer I get to my DFD the more I will have corrected the interest from actual interest on the statements.
