Grrrr. Water bill has come through and has double. spoke to the woman and its becuase my hubs moved in in december last year and its kind of only now being reflected in the bill and that it is still low for a consumption of 3 people in a house.
doesnt help with him being off work and my lodger being a student (12 hrs a week!) so they drink enough tea through out the day, wash pots, use the loo (how dare they!!!) etc do all adds up.
o well. at least im ok to handle these blips.
i've paid an eatra £50 onto my npower bill as i know thats coming in January and i dont want ti have gone up (for said reasons above) per month so would rather make extra payments when i've got the money

Well done on getting to the £7k marker :T
I'm thinking of doing the same with my G&E - I did readings the other day and am owe £22 currently
Actually quite relieved as having been housebound for the past 10 weeks I was terrified I was going to owe loads
They tried to put my d/debit up 80% last January  then said it would only be for 3 months & be reviewed ... but I can't afford 80% more so ..... all down to the fact that I moved supplier in an October so don't have the buffer built before winter but it always balances by the summer which is what really annoys me - surely they should look at the overall picture  (sorry ... G&E companies drive me insane:o)
I actually got a refund from them & a goodwill gesture payment (only £28 in total) but I think I may well pay this to my account to help a bit:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

im not very good at working out where i am going to be regarding the bill..i am just guessing that it will probably go up so trying to pre-empt it.
good on you for getting a refund.
I've just been thinking about my debts (im sure thats all i think about now) and i think the biggest thing that is helping me is being honest with mye self. but then when i was spending and being silly with money..i never felt like i was lieing to my self? does this make sense or am i crazy (you can say i am crazy i wont take offence).
i'm so pleased that i have managed ot over pay & up my payments and chip away... in DECEMEBER of all months. everyone thinks im a scrooge miserable bag...which lets be honest i am...but its for a reaosn. iwould lilke to live & go crazy and eat in the new year so whats the point?
anyway...i'll pipe back down now. i apologise for drivelling onFacing up to things - nov 2012 total 9334.95

I have to be careful of this. It DOES get boring being a moneysaver and we have to keep our eyes on the prize (debtfree) to be able to get through this. I personally feel its the summer thats going to be trickiest.
I find it easy to not spend as its cold and dark outside and I don't want to venture out. In the summer theres lots to do and people are going off out and asking you to places and its going to be sooo hard to say no.
We MUST log in here every day and support each other. Its only this site that keeps me going, without it, I would forget about budgeting and go Maaaaaaad :rotfl:.
Sorry I am rambling now, must be catching. Keep going hun you are doing fab.0 -
I sooooo get where you're all coming from .... really we just need to keep plodding on and chipping away at things.
I guess for me, the end goal is slightly different - I don't (now) have huge debts to clear and, even when I did, it was very small amounts I was able to pay to them (took years!) as my budget's so tight:eek:
A very tight budget's also the reason for the debts so even being DF doesn't mean there's money for going on holiday (although am attempting to start a holiday pot this year - only £20 and even if it does a trip to York I'll be happy!) or meals / nights out etc.
I guess I've got used to the lifestyle - and absolutely hate wasting money now so don't think I'd really go back to that .... although a bit spare to do nice things once in a while would be nice;)
I'm also very lucky where I live and having my pets ... now they cost a small fortune when you break it down:eek: but they are my company.
I feel the dog more than covers her costs because having her means that I go out and about for walks - we've fantastic beaches / woods etc where I live so loads of free entertainment that wayand I'd never go by myself ....
