Age gap in a relationship

Just wanted to get others thoughts on this.

My 45 year old friend who is single and has been for 3 years-ish has started seeing a lovely man and today I found out he is 64. To be fair he doesn't look that age but I think my 'look' when she told me today how old he was may have upset her.

I babbled my way through saying that I didn't think he looked his age but then proceeded to ask her if she was ok with it.

I know it's not my business and TBF he is a lovely man.
Life is a rollercoaster.....ya just gotta ride it:whistle:

If it doesnt bother her - it shouldnt bother any one else. I dont understand these 'rules' about age gaps - especially as it seems that what is acceptable 'one way' is not in another!

As above, if she'd happy leave her be and let her get on with it :)

My parents have a big-ish age gap between them and they couldn't be happier so it can work out :)

    That said my bf's parents still don't know i'm 26  (he's 21) :o

I am really happy for her as she has been down for a while. I'm not so sure her parents would be as he is the same age as her dad :(

I'm here for her anyway :D

  • our best friends are the other way round - no problem at all.
imo if they have a second chance in life to be happy then should grab it, after all you never know what's round the corner.

If she's happy then no need to worry . At 45 I'm sure she can make her own decisions .

    I think there's a typo there! ;)

    My hubby is 46 and I'm 28.
We've been together 5 years and married for 2. We have a ds and are newly pregnant with no. 2.

Age is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned and ohs favourite saying is, you're only as old as the woman you feel.

If your friends happy then that's all that should matter

    It should be:

"Its not the men in my life that count, its the life in my men!"

Mae West was a real character, she had consumate "class", and an extraordinary ability to shock. The "celebrities" of today just pale into insignificance in comparison.

Surely her parents would be happy that their daughter is happy?
