  • Hi everyone,

I am currently at 6 NSDs, probably won't hit the 20 target however seeing as I thought I had gone completely off the rails I am going to try and get as close as possible.

So u got my vouchers so have now completed all of my Christmas shopping woohoo :j I have £40 of Pizza Express vouchers left so I'm going to treat myself and my boyfriend to a nice meal out and we won't have to spend a thing :D now that all my Christmas spending is done and out of the way I am motivated that 2013 is going to be the year to clear my debts completely, aiming for no later than October.

    Yay to motivation :T

  • I made the decision to take out a loan, having tried saving for a year and it not worked it is do or die re my Masters, the op I need and some work on the garden/house.

I only made this decision last week. 7 grand. in debt again.

So I will look out for the January Challenge!

Good luck folks you are halfway through already !

    And Merry Christmas

To a certain degree... I'd say about 90% which is OK by me!

The car in question is a 12yr old @$tra but was a posh version of its time. Engines now have computer brains that are wired up in such a fashion that if you take a bit--eg oil filtre--out before you remove another bit--eg windscreen washer motor--you cause complete melt-down on all the systems  My little motor needed a new battery a couple of years back & now the radio doesn't work & I have to jiggle the heated rear window button to turn it off!
Give me the days of replacing a fan belt with a pair of tights & driving past rows of folk with only their legs visible as they jump head first under a bonnet on a Sunday *wistful sigh*

I'm a gal who loves the smell of a good steam train & the throbbing heartbeat of a proper lump engine as in dodge, shevvie & Arley Dee wink-and-flirt-smiley-emoticon.gif so I despise the way our mechanical world is becoming no more than the noise of an annoying gnat angry.gif

Dug some sangers out of the freezer for today's lunch--the half a box of fish pieces & most of the chips went yesterday--so Using Up What's In Store is going good as the spuddiddlies will be mashed for today, accompanied by the remnants of assorted curly veg & then I can wash the box out ready for the next lot.
12 nsds, plenty of swift (for my wikkul legs!) walking & reading by a convenient street lamp ( :j ) whilst swathed in fleece = one happy Mumma on this wet, wintery morning :D

NSD 9 yesterday and 10 will be today as I too spend too much money on Saturday (Dec is a tough one, but glad loads of you are hanging in and are being honest, can't wait for not having to spend in Jan - not that I should have to now:o). Mainly on meat for the festive period. Also had a works night out on Saturday but only got two drinks with the meal (we paid for in Nov) and the taxi (which was more than the price for two drinks and they were dear at £3.85 each ). BF gets paid on Thursday so I hope he'll pay the veg order from the greengrocer and the stuff we need from B&Q. My dad said he'll fix the hole in our bathroom floor when they're over for christmas and replace the carpet with lino. From an ex-joiner I can't let that offer pass but need to get the materials in.

EDIT: Thinking about what I spent this month and probably still have to part with I am looking fwd to Jan and Feb. Jan is long and it’s an expensive nursery month (have to pay 5 weeks rather than 4) and it’s my birthday in Feb (cheap this year) but it’s a short month so I’ve already had a play with my numbers for both and I’ll be able to pay off my CC and make a good start on the kitchen and rainy day fund.

  • Morning Chickadees...

I'm on my wee train on route to work again! Finished and landed in bed around 0300 although not feeling to bad! I say that now but might be asleep by noon.. Drooling over my desk! New people today, new office as I've volunteered to fill in for someone so it's a slightly unusual exciting day... Last work day until 29th though WOOOOHOOOO!!!

Overtime booked for the 29th so that makes three for the month although I'm awaiting one more. 4 weekends in a month is tough but needs must! I shall update my sig shortly to reflect my extra income! Anyone else loading up on overtime?!

My train is making weird noises likes its a submarine, my little mind wanders with stuff like this! Maybe I should write a children's book..:-)).. Wonder how easy that would be.. I'll keep you posted!

Otherwise I'm in a jolly good mood today, this is despite drinking tea with slightly off milk this morning! Eugh! I've do far dodged this winter vomiting bug but Sniffles McSniffleson sat beside me here on the train is gonna get a prod with my feisty elbow if he doesn't just blow thank conker of his..:-( can't risk taking time off work!!

So that's me for the morning.. Don't think this will be an NSD as I don't have ANY food in the house! Might muster something for tonight out of a potatoe and pasta shells but this morning there was nothing 'work' suitable! It'll be the cheap soup and a roll option I think should amount to £1.60.. I have pennies for this tucked deep in my wee pocket!!

Naughty Kitty but I couldn't get around this.. Boo hiss! Now if some bought me lunch and the tea is free I will know that the force is with me..
I'll keep you updated of this at least..:-))

    Onwards and Upwards!!

  • Good morning Kat et al

Just popping by to keep me focussed.
Over the weekend I did 6 hours of overtime which all helps.
I have brought breakfast, lunch and dinner to work with me (long day!) so not to buy any food from pesky Mr T who has opened just opposite work.
I have an E-bay parcel to post at lunchtime but not counting that as a spend.
Tonight afterwork I have a Mystery Shop to do which will net £30.
So if all goes to plan I should have a NSD and earn an extra £30...happy days!

How has everybody coped with Xmas present buying ?
I have cut it down to a minimum over the years and more so this year, I must stay strong though, I have an only child that I have a tendency to spoil!

    Good Luck Everyone
