Good Day to you all.... I am in bed already. I got home from work sharpish and brought the bike to the mechanic. I realised my indicator works so I won't have to spend anything there (£15 saved)..he has been left in over-night so I won't know how much I have to pay until tomorrow. Slightly annoying but there ain't nowt much else I can do..
SO I am home, fed and washed, in bed and ready for a proper old snooze although a movie first might have to occur. I am going to see the Hobbit tomorrow I think but on my own.. I can't sit around and wait for other people to do things before I do and most of my girlfriends work shifts! Boo hiss!
I am also sitting beside my very tempting Advent calendar and feel like ripping it to shreds and eating the lot..:p:p:p
ManMan I was thinking of you just when you posted earlier...I was ready to reply when my terminal at work shut down due to a reconfiguration thingy and I thought it was a superb time to go home...lol! I am very glad things are getting sorted and have fingers crossed for you for Monday! A day off being over-fed by Aunty sounds like a superb idea.. and my down time without tinterweb would have only been 1 day however I still woulda has MSE withdrawal symptoms!!
PurpleJay I love your planning! You clearly have a goal now and I find it amazing just how things fall into place simply by grabbing hold of that small things in out lives that controls everything - finances! I am familiar with the LPC having looked into this myself .. I think you should go for it. You will be amazed how things pan out for you as you move forward!!!
Kerfuffle - where in the world are you? I am loving the interaction from so many of you around the world so I am going to guess somewhere in the USA? Glad you got the NSD issue sorted... always good to keep yourself on track with a recount..:)..I like this challenge you have joined..have you worked it out per day..?
NannyGladys I chuckled when you mentioned your guinea pig...:rotfl::rotfl: I bet it woudn't even warm one foot! :rotfl: My cat is currently on my knee in the way of the keyboard rubbing her head off my hands making it very hard to type..... you can have her!!!:rotfl:
WantToBeSE ...chicken is cheaper too well done...(or is it?).. how many in the house to move..? Its a good plan ..why hang around when you technically don't have too!!! I would like to be in my own wee flat / bedsit by the end of next year.. have't lived on my own in 9 years!!!
Advent calander 15th & 16th devoured...( sowwwy )..
Brizzle good choice with the birthday money although perhaps a little something for yourself... a bubble bath or a couple of Lush bath bombs..you can smash them with a hammer and one will do 4-6 baths! I don't want people becoming discouraged as things get tough so a treat on a birthday is allowed... NSK has spoken..
LaMarsi January won't be as bad...please come back then...I hope you keep well though and find ways to keep the spending down for the rest of December...good luck in your journey!
Right then chickadees I have the rest of Seven running, nothing like a grubby film to give me the heeby jeebies before bed. Have brushed teeth so Advent calendar is being put away..( promise )..

Hi all
what a long week that was, not the best but at least it's the weekend now. Had to put petrol in car today had hoped it would be a NSD.
tomorrow it's in to town to finish the Xmas shopping but Sunday will be a NSD. Shopping is delivered tomorrow trying to group everything together.
I will do a weekly total on sundayYou can if you think you can .0 -
Hello again and thanks for the encouragement. Do you do legal work Kat? Just wondered with you looking at the LPC. The ilex route to qualify is a long one but as you work while doing it, you dont have to do a training contract. It took me ages to get membership of ilex and when I had done I'd had enough! ... but 3 years later... why not have a go
Enjoy the hobbit. I would like to see it but disappointed it is a 12 it being a children's book and all. We tend to only see films at the pictures if son comes to so it will be PGs only for a while for me.
I also came to bed early and have a cat hot water bottle tonight. Mine keeps pawing me as I am typing not fussing her'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -
Aren't 12's not 12a's now so you can still take your son to see it?1% at a time challenge member #127

Evening all!
Kat - I couldn't cope with the mess. I cleaned as I moved around sorting myself out today. Result was I got ready on time, without stress and also had no mini meltdown when the boiler men got here.
No spends on my works xmas do, and so much food consumed I didn't need anything else all day. 5 course lunch, yumyumyum!!! More than a little squiffy after a 2 and a half year hiatus on the alcohol intake. Half a bottle of very nice wine and 3 SoCo & lemonades was more than enough for me, and I bowed out before 7pm and got home in time to get cuddles from my girly who squished my head with all her might when she saw me and drooled all over my cheek (aka hugs and kisses).
So an NSD, and a very nice one at that! Tuesdays Xmas do with the girlies was meant to be 2 train fares (an eyewatering £12.70) plus 1 bus (£2.70) plus meal & drinks (£30) but is now reduced thanks to my friend coming to drop her daughter off and picking me up on the way, and her OH refusing to let me get the last train home & offering to drive me.Since the last time I went on a night out was June 2010 I feel I am more than due a blowout, however will be making the money for the night on an unplanned day of overtime on Monday.
I will be aiming for 2 NSD's this weekend. We want for nothing right now. I do have to order our Christmas jammies so that we actually get them for xmas eve (family tradition to be carried on in our little household this Christmas!) but hopefully I can do it Monday - we shall see!
I feel a bit up in the air with my spending right now but I can't put my finger on why. Think I am still feeling guilt over the dresses, although you are right Kat. I genuinely had nothing I could wear.... They were not charity shop buys though I am afraid. A quick trip to New Look, one was half price, the other £22.99 at full price. The tights (came in very handy when holding in those 5 courses...) were £2.50 from Primark
I should have been asleep hours ago. Plenty of water by the bed. Night all!!

Hi NSK,
I'm in Canada, about an hours drive from the Canada/USA border so your guess was pretty close.:)
Sorting out my NSD v SD took me a while to sort out, but I hate things not adding up properly, anyhow I'm back on track now :T
I haven't joined a new challenge, I was just thinking out loud really, but I've decided to go for it and pay an additional payment of 1716.00 to my mortgage by 11/12/13, just because I like the idea of having the date as a target date. And yes I did work out how much is was per day :rotfl:, I'm going to multiply the amount by 28, 30 or 31 depending on how many days there are in the month and transfer that amount to the mortgage savings pot (yet to be set up) on the last day of each month.
The target amount isn't a massive amount, but it's going to be a struggle to reach it as I'm also paying off debts, but here's hoping the motivation spurs me on to set a higher figure for 2014.
I had to laugh at Nannygladys image of having her guinea pig in bed with her, I used to have a GP as a child, and they drop 'raisins' all over the place :rotfl:

Morning All
Specialkaye - I didn't know about that so will investigate. Not sure of suitability for a 6 year old though so might wait for DVD and watch it first.
Today is a planned spend day. 40 - 50 in morrisons I am collecting the Xmas vouchers and this is week 7, plus bread and paper from local shop.
Don't think I need to spend anything else but must finish Xmas shopping at some point.
Just spent an hour on maximiles - not been on for a while but have done a few bits and signed up for their surveys again. I am not far off a 30 amazon gift card :j
Also been looking into other survey sites to try and make a few bob. Used to do them but have lapsed.
Night out tonight - a party at a friends so looking forward to that. I shall be dying my hair later and will take some wine I already have so it will be a no spend night out'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -
Just dropping in to say up to 9 NSD now and hoping for 10&11 this weekend:)November NSD's - 70

Morning all
NSK-Yes, a chicken is cheaper than a turkey i think. I looked at small frozen turkeys in Tesco yesterday and they were £10!! Even the smallest one would be waaay too much for me and my 2 kids. I will just get a normal whole chicken from Lidl for about £3-£4 in next weeks shopping trip.
Did you enjoy your film? Was it the one with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman?
So, i HAVE written the weeks meal plan:
Saturday(Today)- Pork Chops, Squished Potatoes and cucumber salad
Sunday- Chilli con carne
Monday-Jacket Potatoes with tuna and sweetcorn.
Tuesday-Prawn stir fry
Wednesday-Chicken curry, nann bread, tomato salad
Thursday- Crunchy garlic chicken, rice, tomato salsa
Friday- Classic spaghetti with garlic bread.
Today i am going to be making my younger son a greek outfit for next week. They have to go dressed as a greek, so an old sheet and sandals will do!
I also need to nag him into doing his project for school, he hates it!
Have a great day everyone!0
