Morning! There's a crisp wintery sun to get me in the mood for physical & mental de-junking today
With so many folk having so many medically induced appointments, I need to shake the marbles about every so often or I'd declare Pup had to have new glasses & The Offspring needed worming :rotfl:
I've got a suspicion I've declared one too many nsds but I'll not change it for now. Today may be a spendy but it very much depends on how muvva is, so I could be safe leaving my total where it is IYSWIM.
Food budget is ultra crazy with the prices rising anyway, but add in the crimbly factor too & it's a wonder anyone will be able to shop in the supermarkets before longApart from one person we all love veg & it makes up half of our lunch plate; could get some frozen I suppose but we also like raw cauli & carrot so that wouldn't be of much use
Things like asian & farmers markets are miles away, the one pick-your-own/farm shop we do have is no cheaper & the stuff doesn't last anywhere near as long. It's still a 20min drive from us so not practical to visit every three days or summat, as it's in the wrong direction too for other necessary journeys.
We've got a L1d! which is OK for some stuff, a pricey sainsbugs in town & a MrT outside the town. Morries are hoping to open in the New Year, the sainsbugs in the next village is on limited stock cuz they're being refurbed as from January & the new @sda (a 20min drive) is horrendously busy cuz it's only been open a month.
We've had a go at tintawebbie food shops but have a few good coupons & no sign of how to use them online...any suggestions most gratefully received as we are mere babes at this
Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Hello,
I am back again to declare my 7/20 NSD - I was thinking that I would like to have something nice from shop - small chocolate or something, but now I declared my number 7 NSD - I have to keep my word - so no unnecessary spend :j.
I always find the less money I have the more I want to go to shops and spend and spend:(
Keeping to the budget for the food for now.
I wish it was March already - as this month, January and February will very tight. Oh well it is only two and half months to go - not that I wish my life awayDebt 1 (1/11/12) CC - £3,694.27:eek: - one at a time - 3 more in hiding:(

I think on a next spend day you all need to buy a big tub of ice cream like I did last month that's ONLY for you to eat from when you feel you need a sweet treat or chocolate...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Hi all
can I recommend making Nigella's chocolate cookies if you want a serious sugar hit? Make once a week and then simply enjoy and it wont blemish a NSD??
pack of butter, 300g SR flour, vanilla essence (if you like), 250g caster sugar, 30g cocoa powder - cream butter and sugar, then work in flour and cocoa. It will be very crumbly but keep on going. Roll out small balls (walnut sized?) and then press with a fork. Cook for 5 minutes at 170C or gas 3 and then maybe another 10-15 at 150C/Gas 2. They will be dark anyway so watch they dont burn. Yes lots of calories but simply much much better than buying them. Makes at least 36.
Might make some now myself..:D

Seeking Happiness... Already planning January's challenge! Cheerlead for now .. And Welcome!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. :TOH OH OH I want to join!....probably too late for December, but please count me in for January 2013, I have some niggling debts, 'that just need sorting out'! and I need to keep myself motivated. :T
I'll start by practising for the rest of December in readiness for hard core debt busting in January.
Most of the debt listed in my signature is on 0% because I have juggled around to cards offering 0% mostly until June 2014...which is when I would like it all cleared by.
My good points:
FOOD: I'm pretty good with lunches/meals and batch cooking as I am also trying to lose some weight so I rarely buy lunches/eat out.
UTILITIES: I keep a regular check on comparison websites
ALCOHOL: I have cut down considerably due to diet
SMOKING: I don't
My bad points: Holidays! Clothes (bargains....so I end up with more clothes than any one person should own!), Bargains in general really, generally poor attitude to debt busting (this will hopefully improve!)0 -
