Reactions. Don't listen to your tutor, it doesn't matter what he thinks.

Also, your parents are proud of you no matter what. Money and material items are not what makes people happy as they season.

Sod your friends. That will be your GREATEST downfall. The thing to realise is that friends change, places change, and life changes.

It doesn't matter what other people are doing. They have the same doubts too. The successful ones focus on what they're doing and don't focus on what other people are doing.

It's a mindset. Read that book. That's your first step. This is about you, not other people. You can only do what you can do. It's as simple as that. And that's what will take you to where you want to be.

    :)

I do spend too much time comparing myself to others. I do not know why I get surprised that they do better than me as I know in some ways like essay ability they are better than me, but then in others I know I am just as good as them, but I let those two together make me think I am doing worse than them even though they are bound to.

Uh huh. I understand distraction Phil.

But it has to have contributed to your supposed failure.

If you'd hated it that much, why didn't you change course early on?

Because I did not really understand how changing courses worked and I did not want to hurt my parents by saying I did not want to do it. Plus, I thought I might like it in time.

I have to be less put off by others and comparing myself and more on getting what I want and working towards that.

man - we did try to suggest it at the end of last summer......... repeatedly. along with lots of advice on how to do as well as possible this year.

well that can only be because you didn't listen to everything from the student board at the time. when people experienced in student support took so much time to try and help, that's really a waste of a resource as well as their time.

it's the repetitive nature of your posts that winds me up, phil! you don't hear what you want so ask other people. you've made your decisions so now go with them, make the most of them - work and finish your degree!

Considering I was at the end of year 2 then there was no way I could really drop out or change course, which I said at the time, it was not a waste of their time, but it was not practical for me at that stage in my course.

If it makes you feel better I have suffered everyday and I might well suffer everyday in my career for my choice of course.

it doesn't make anyone feel better, it's just frustrating to listen to - so much of it could be avoided with a change in your attitude; if you took control of the situation rather than sat back as a victim of your own choices! people have tried (and continue to try) to help you but nothing makes a difference.

My choice of degree will give me the handicap of a 2:2 for everyday of the rest of my life, so I think I will suffer loads from my choice of course.

Yeah, it's a real disadvantage.

Every single person employed in this country has a first.

I'm outta here - whichever Phil you are, you're driving me to distraction

Look I knew as soon as I started that I hated it the welcome meeting was start of year 1. But I struggled on, I almost failed my exams at the Christmas of the second year and I knew from that point on that I was stuck with a 2:2 as I could never make 50 marks back in the rest of my degree.
