Don't mention your trip to the village in your complaint, no need to give anyone rope to hang you with, even if there is no actual "offence".0 -
Every little helps (no, hang on, that's someone else's slogan), but to be honest ASDA appear to be top of the charts for not giving a stuff about their customers when it comes to private parking matters, often lying about who owns their own car parks.Je Suis Cecil.0

penalty notice from T&C parking for staying longer than their so
called permitted time. I parked at Asda in Shaw didn't notice
any signs warning me of these charges (have never parked at a
Asda before that has them) Went into the village then returned
to Asda did my weekly shop and even had a coffee in their cafe.
I am going to ignore their letters but is it worth complaining to
Asda themselves as I don't want to give them any information they
could pass on to T&C parking. I'd be grateful for some assistance .
I wrote and complained to ASDA CEO and also the store manager. I got a ticket fromT&C parking too on 7th November. I haven't heard from ASDA or the parking company. I was doing my fortnightly shop too.
I will be ignoring any letters asking for money.0 -
Well what do you know, the post has just been with a letter from ASDA store manager, asking me to ring them as they don't have a contact number for me. To see if we can resolve this matter.
Well they have my address why could they not resolve it in writing!
EDIT
Well I spoke to the manager and he has asked to see me when I am next in the store to discuss having the ticket quashed, but I won't celebrate until it's done. I will be there next Friday.0 -
The last one I saw was a cancelled ticket and compensation of the amount being asked for from asda, so call them and mention that is what you are after, tell them you are going to the local press and national if they don't at least do that.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Although, as an ASDA shopper - I applaud that they are doing something to discourage not shoppers from filling the car park, provided for me and others to do our weekly shop.
The reasons why the CP was used for non-ASDA shopping is irrelevant, blame the council for not offering enough spaces, but why anyone would think a supermarket 'wouldn't mind' to this type of (mis)use is mistaken. The issue of the invoice or its enforceability is a different issue - but what sanction would you suggest to discourage inappropriate parkers who spoil it for the rest?
Not once in my life have I ever been to a supermarket car park and found it too full to park, even at its most packed such as just before Christmas. It's a non-issue.0 -
Thanks everyone for their replies much appreciated .0

1. Read the thread. The letter is an 'inovice' not a fine. They cannot legally apply fines.
2. Throw the letter in the bin.
3. Throw further letters in the bin.
Best wishes. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
