Am I bit bah humbug? I won't be putting our tree up till the 14th
Not at all. I hate it kicking off too early; takes the magic out of it. And I speak of one who LOVES Christmas and spends much of the year looking forward to it. The only thing I'll be doing at the beginning of December is re-reading "Winter Solstice" which I do every December as it really puts me in a feel-good Christmassy mood. I have written a load of cards though, just get a few done each day so it's not a mad panic.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Morning all. My list for today, please ignore the fact this is similar to what I'd planned yesterday!
Dog walks
Hoover/sweep/mop downstairs
Tidy/dust living room
Put up Xmas tree
In the past, if it was up to me the tree would have gone up on Xmas Eve, but DH loves Xmas and would put it up in November if he could, so I've always compromised with 1 Dec. However, this year, I'm also in Xmassy mood. I think this is due to MSE and not stressing about the cost etc which can take the shine off it. Even DD is looking forward to her first ever frugal Xmas.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Morning lovelies!
Thought I'd pop my head round the door
Been busy with my new job and my other job and running the house, you know how it is, hope everyone's well and getting into the Christmas SpiritUmming and arring whether to put the dining room tree up today, the real tree wont be purchased and put up in the living room for a while yet, but got new silver decs for the black one so I'm a little bit itching to do it haha
Loving my new job, the lasses are lovely as are all the teachers and the rest of the staff, I'll be having my very first works Christmas party in Dec oooh and a secret santa or two Yay!
Valli One word!................. Glitter! :rotfl::p
Been busy this morning, done all the kitchen/dining room, bunged a corned beef hash in the SC, and fannied on with my advent calendar, I just can't find a suitable place that I'm happy with, it's a 3D nativity one from Lakeland and quite a size.
House had a good going over yesterday so other than a small WM jobbie I'm pretty much free for the day. Going to see DS1/DIL an GD for a bit to take over birthday pressies and calendar/Rudolph game for GD, then a quick nip to NEXT to pick up an order, will probs wrap them all later on.
Random thought: My feet are freezing!

The living room is tidied and dusted, which actually meant I was able to cross a few things off this weeks official list. Off for a soak, then walkies.Spend less now, work less later.0

Kiddies are home! But before they get here I:
Stripped and remade beds.
Finished the ironing.
Emptied DW and ran on empty for a clean. Filled with salt and rinse aid.
Cooked sausages.
Fed birds.
Emptied kitchen bin.
Made up new kitchen spray with winter spice zoflora.
Wiped round kitchen with above, smells fab.
I've also unpacked their bits and bobs and got nursery bags ready for tomorrow. Setting off to mums soon for Sunday lunch
So we're all set for a new week. Might even write a few cards tonight...Bossymoo

Only managed level 1 this week..again
This morning though I have wrapped a few Christmas presents that will need to go in the post and I decided to tackle the kitchen cupboard I keep the medicines in. I have a carrier bag of out of date/no longer needed medicines to take to the pharmacy next to work tomorrow. I even found a couple of sachets of calpol in there - not sure when I last tackled it but my children are 14 and 18Make £10 per day in July £45.48/£310

OH and I are really on top of our game, all we have to do is stay on top now. We had a big declutter a couple of weeks back and gave all the main rooms a good 'bottoming out' in readiness for the silly season. I have made the christmas puddings, the cake and mince pies are in the freezer. I just have to get some sausage rolls and mini pasties made. The Anklebiter and I will make some Christmas cookies when he finishes school for the season. So apart from present buying and wrapping I'm pretty much up to where I like to be, and that is all thanks to the wonderful Flypeople on here.
I don't like putting the decorations up too early either as they can look sad and dejected by Christmas else, so ours will probably wait now until towards the end of the week after next. In this time of hustle and bustle it is all too easy to forget that for many the season is a sad and lonely one, spare a thought for those who have lost someone dear to them, or the year has treated them unkindly. I will be making a special effort to be more sensitive to these people.
I am still trying to play catch up with all my Flyfriends happenings but I do think of you all and send you positive vibes.

I tidied, and scrubbed our BR yesterday then made a start on the boys rooms. Cooked, ate, did 10k on the exercise bike and then collapsed in state of gentle exhaustion.
This morning I have sorted the kitchen whilst OH has done some DR clearance. We have a visible dining table - which makes me think of AnWs mum!
Dusty - the wood burner was a big investment but I don't regret it in the least. You'll be pleased to know the wood is all neatly stacked in size order
Stopping now to cook Sunday lunch but will be back to do some more work on the DR. And the inevitable ironing.
ETA No decorations up here yet, we had a mice problem in the loft so a no go area for me (I hate those meeces to peeces!). We are having a practice brined turkey for Sunday lunch though.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Hello again flypeople. I'm just having a spot of lunch before hoovering/sweeping/mopping through house. Since my last post, I've walked the dogs for 2 hours, bathed all three of them, changed our bedding, sorted out washing on airer and WM is on load 2.Spend less now, work less later.0
