One of my colleague's hubby, a teacher, had his mo-shave plans read out on Chris Evans' show this morning...now given I knew his name and town I pretty much had it figured for him. What with heston's recent visit looks like we'll be a tourist hotspot ere long :rotfl:

Morning all. I am really excited, its December and DH has just got the Xmas tree and decs down from the loft. So I really need to clean the LR before bringing it all down. I'm going to see if I can find the rolls of 'snow' in town today as that will save completely on dusting for the next 4 weeks! Am also planning to make some homemade decs but need to source some wire hangers first.

So much paid stuff this week that the flying has really suffered, so I do need to catch up on jobs this weekend, but first this morning, I'm off to town for a few bits, a peruse round the charity shops and I'm going to get my hair chopped.

    Have a great day everyone.

Plans for the weekend are to try and get some of the house sorted and wrap some Christmas presents. Having said that, I'm camping tonight following a night hike and I've got a big Christmas party on tomorrow afternoon.

    Hope everyone's well.

    Have a good day all

    Morning all

Just having a cuppa and a spot of brekkie. Been up to town and bought my Xmas gammon. Also had a mooch in home bargains and bargain madness, but wasn't inspired. Although, I did get a golf drinking game for FIL which we might play Xmas eve when the tots are in bed lol.

This my roundup for this weekend, if it's gone, it's done:

Wipe & replace small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc (wipe under too, especially the toaster!)
Clean the oven if you missed it last week or it needs it
Clean out and organize one drawer, more if you like
Clean out the vacuum cleaner, empty the bag/bucket, clean filters if they are washable MAKE SURE YOU DON'T PUT THEM BACK UNTIL THEY ARE DRY!
Strip bed linen and wash, replace with clean linen
    Vacuum mattress
Clean a set of curtains, nets or blinds
Wipe keyboard, house phone, sockets, switches and mouse etc
Deep clean mission - Clean where your Christmas tree and any other decorations are going
Strip beds, turn and vacuum mattresses!! and replace with fresh linen .. check if duvets need freshening up too!!

Also today: go in loft and bring the required decs to near the hatch.
    Get elf and advent calendars.
    Put bits of shopping away.
    Assemble gingerbread house trial.

Tots are on their way to see mallard at the railway museum DS will be so excited :T

  • Good morning :D

10.45am and not done much :o I have had breakfast, and updated a speadsheet, checked emails, etc. DH is cleaning the blinds in the LR :T windows are next - he wants the decs up this weekend, so I told him not until the windows are clean :p I was a bit concerned when he asked about OS methods of cleaning them and mentioned tomato ketchup!! I told him it's vinegar, not ketchup. I think he knew was something to do with chips :rotfl:We will do the decs tomorrow, as we are out this afternoon.

I am now going to do HHStudy (I am, honest!) I will get set up, and start at 11.00, if antone wants to join me in HHSomething. I am going to retrieve the advent calendars from upstairs first, so they are there when the kids surface :)
  • DS has just got up. He has decided that he should have breakfast first (it is 11.50!!) before opening his advent calender. Bless :)

DH has done 3 out of 5 of the windows/blinds (big bay window), but has now taken the dog for a run. It is raining here :(

I have been reading about the Laming Report for my course. I had tears in my eyes reading about Victoria Climbie's injuries and suffering :(
I think I have had a breakthrough on deciding who/what to use for my case study (not related to the above!) so maybe I can make a start on that. We are going out at about 1pm, so I may just jot down some ideas.
