It is no use. I have to crawl back out from under the dust balls and admit that we have slid back into dirty CHAOS. We have lots of people coming to stay in 20 something days and I may die of shame.

May I come back and play pretty please? With dust bunnies on top.

It's a great target isn't it; having to make guest rooms/office space etc into rooms that actual guest can a) get into without falling over stuff and b) drowning in dust!

Last year I had a major office blitz for that reason; had it decorated and went through EVERY BIT of clutter, throwing loads away. However, being the poor finisher that I am, the curtains still don't have tie-backs (material is in carrier bag on 'in-tray') and there are still a couple of boxes of needed-to-be-kept- but-who-knows-where stuff? And last month we had the loft insulated......so now 2 boxes of LPs awaiting disposal. Any ideas? If I list them individually on ebay I'll still have them by Christmas 2014. But guests arriving this year...........
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

My items didn't sell on eb@y :-9 :-( so a trip to the charity shop is due tomorrow, just hope I can park near it!!!

2 loads of washing done, DD has loaded her hair with conditioner for delicing in the morning.

    Not a lot else done.
  • Good evening :D

I have had a fairly productive afternoon :) I have swept & vac'd the stairs (after clearing the gibble that had accumulated), hoovered through downtairs, mopped the bathroom floor, and steam-cleaned the shower screen, shower tray, bathroom window & the tiles. I have done some washing (needs folding now), and washed the mop head after use. I have done my invoices for this week - just need to email the last one.

DH took us out for dinner :T so no washing up! :j We have run out of DW tabs anyway :o

Of course, all this cleaning means no studying has been done :o The plan is to do some in the morning, as I am not going to my art club. I am taking my mum Chrimbo shopping tomorrow pm, as she doesn't get out much as she is always looking after my step dad. She needs the break. DH & DS will be Grumps-sitting :D

Hugs, sticks & spoons to those that need them, esp Bossymoo. Today must have been hard for you x

Dusty I'm well jel of your shopping trip!

Apologies for being going off thread for a couple of days. DS3 woke up unable to walk and I recognised his symptons as something he had 3 years ago. GP confirmed my diagnosis and so our trip to hospital began. 48 hours later we are home and DS3 has a suspected factured hip (x-rays don't show everything). I've lost 2 days flying and am rather panicked as DD1 is 21 on Sunday and we have everyone round for a meal at a local restaurant tomorrow. The house is looking rather sorry for my absence and nobody is bothered but me.

DH was excused from work and drove home from the north yesterday with today off for compassionate leave. He's been as much use as a chocolate teapot. He has shaved his Mo off(movember) but then spoiled things by smoking when DS2 went to football. His excuse was that it was cold! He went to bed at 9.30 and now I have to make peace for the sake of a peaceful day tomorrow when I'm really upset he's fallen off the wagon again.

DS3 is much better now but walking with a pronounced limp and DH is giving me grief for summoning him home. Ever feel like screaming?

I've done all the ironing while DS2 was out at football training. I'm praying for frozen courts/pitches tomorow or I'll have to cancel having my hair cut.

I'm off to bed now, I will put the ironing away in the morning. I'm back to waking up early and it sucks.
