    Back from town.

    One small christmas present bought
    One new dress for me
One new slip for me - not had one in decades but dress needed it
One new bra for me - on price match
One new potato ricer to replace the one I broke this week
    oh another dress for me

That was not the aim at all!

Came home and missing present has been delivered and I have now ordered one more on line.

For penance, and because it is cold in the house I shall now tidy and hoover the living room.

Polly - lovely to see you posting, please do so every day, just for me x

  • In my HH-declutter (which went to 45 mins :D) managed -

dirty washing fling down the stairs

retrieve recycling and compost bins - now having a quick bleach soak

de-cluttered teacups from round the house, ready to load in dishwasher in a bit

emptied and cleaned out Tea/coffee cupboard - decanted odds into mugs and canister on the side ready to go into dishwasher

made a nice big pot of tea to keep me going

made up vegetarian jelly for trifle as surprise for DD3

emptied rockhard H0rlicks from tea/coffee cupboard into a big saucepan of milk to boil down and dissolve into concentrated portions for freezer (3 hard containers worth - too much to lobb :( )

emptied, cleaned and surveyed contents of tin foil drawer - yes I have enough freezer bags to freeze up the H0rlicks, but I need some more tin foil to last over holiday season if I don't want to keep scrubbing the floor of the oven :p

put away gubbins in main bathroom

fling & put away in DD3 and Hallway

collected stray shoes for shoe cupboard

got washing baskets from utility for washing fling - (will drag them outside and colour sort a bit later)

straightened out sofa throws and cushions and put sleeping bag DD3 had been snuggling down with yesterday on top of washing basket

two of my cupboards in LR won't shut - and I cannot quite see what is causing blockage, so may have to climb up on chair to empty and re-stack it later

It goes to show if I walk round with my eyes shut for 24 hours how much tuut appears out of nowhere :o

time for another cuppa, then try and force DS down for his nap before DD3 gets in from school - need another good HH de-clutter before I can start cleaning - any company??

Well done Clare I bet you can really tell the difference.

    I've
    Remade DS2 bed
    Washed the cat bedding
    Hoovered downstairs
    Hoovered sofas

Just having a cuppa then I'm doing 15 minutes in the kitchen. That will leave the DR which is certainly the room of doom at the moment.

Sounds a good long list Claire and Dusty. I'm just sitting down for a hopefully deserved coffee, having:

    - done a load of washing
    - filled up bird feeders
    - defrosted freezer!!! A frog indeed, have been meaning to do it for yonks. It's been like global warming in the garage, with water and icebergs melting all over the shelves, but it looks good. In all my 30+ years of freezer-owning, this one (less than 2 yrs old) seems to ice up more than any I've had before. NOW I understand why people buy frost-free.
    - thoroughly cleaned en suite including de-homing several spiders and mopping the floor, as well as washing the mats.
    - have picked a load of greenery to make previously mentioned Christmas door wreath for mum. I need to make it tomorrow morning, but it was so frosty this morning I thought I'd better get the branches indoors overnight or I'd be having to defrost bushes!
    - went swimming
    - have ordered sis in law's present
    - emptied and washed kitchen compost bins

Mr N and I plan to sit down this evening with calendar, cards and present lists and get organised for next few weeks activities. I've written some cards, but need to at least get 'abroad' ones off and would like to finish most of the others.
Also on schedule is to continue making photo book of 2 holidays. Relatively easy and love the results but incredibly time consuming.

Oh well coffee finished so no excuse - must get back to it!
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

    Been out all day.

Took kids to play gym, then dropped them at inlaws. Then went to see my granny. She looks terrible. She's no feeling in her left side and is very weak and spaced out. I just held her hand for a while but in the end she said I should go. But I left her some chocolate buttons. I went to the chapel but couldn't find the chair with dh's plaque so I sat and cried.

Then I went shopping. Retail therapy. Hurrah. Now home with three bottles of pear cider, watching friends. Another one to put down to experience.

So no flying. Will catch up int the morning, plus I'll be having a trial run of the gingerbread house, getting the advent calendars ready and getting Benny the Elf ready.

    Away with the fairies
  • Sorry to your Granny is so poorly, and the experience really put you through the mill Bossymoo. xxx. Looking after you is just as important as flying in the house, and as you say tomorrow is another day to try and catch up.

    Big hugs

So sorry you have had such a bad day, on those sort of days take it easy, have a long relaxing bath/shower, wrap up and watch t.v. the housework can wait, look after yourself :)
Do I need it or just want it.
  • Flying has been slow going since earlier although I haven't worked to list I don't seem to have stopped......DS still refusing to have a nap, DD3 keeps over- stimulating him so he won't settle .

    But I have
hoovered upstairs landing, my room, DD1, DD2 and DD3 room
cleaned 8 upstairs windows - on the inside only
cleaned all low flat surfaces my room, DD1, DD2 and DD3
fling boogie/ pick up after DD3 used main bathroom - confiscated all my special shampoos/conditioners back -( the shower screen will have to be left til later as it now covered in unidentifiable slime as she failed to rinse round afterwards.)
    polished mirrors upstairs
    Tea/Coffee cupboard re-assembled
    LR hoovered

Right I need to try to settle DS down for the whole night soon otherwise it's going to be tears and tantrums all night long, and that will just be me :D

I will need to review the main list later, and then decide what to do when he goes to sleep

hugs, sticks, spoons to all in need
