Hi all, we sound like a mixed bunch today with some people doing loads and others with more pressing stuff to contend with - so hugs to all who need them. Housework is something people only notice if you don't do it.
For myself, no flying today as it's my late working day, so not long back and hoping to catch up on Sunday's Homeland then start work report I meant to do at the weekend.
Have been wandering round reciting Valli's sig "Don't put it down, put it away" so I really appreciate that and it is starting to sink in.
Really getting cold here so will have to check bird feeder tomorrow before work. We get mainly goldfinches (lots - record is 12 at once), all the tits (my favourites are the long tailed ones although they are the less frequent), starlings, few robins and blackbirds. Most exciting this month was a couple of visits from a greater spotted woodpecker, hope he becomes a regular.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

I expect/hope/fear news that I can redo a piece of work and need to clear out as many 'displacement activities' as possible.
Study dusted, hoovered, stuff which shouldn't be there relocated.
Bedroom dusted, hoovered - furniture moved and cleaned behind
Landing/stairs dusted and hoovered.Craftyscholar wrote: »However I am halfway through dusting and vacuuming downstairs.
Tidying as I go.
Recycling box and bag emptied this morning - bag (paper) filling up again.0 -

My surgery has an advocacy service that does a home visit, discusses your case, meds, and symptoms, and fills out the ESA form for you....I was told it is automatic ESA policy to reject the first application unless it came in under "special rules" for Terminal ill, or through advocate - that way people supposedly "trying it on" for benefit won't bother to go down the appeals process. The trouble is, unless you have someone who knows how they score and allocate points you can spend days agonising over the form and not get anywhere near completing it before the deadline expires.
As hard as it was for me to have the advocate come to my house, it was less stressful than having to try to complete form over the phone or having to attend interview.
HTH
This is absolutely not the case and I was not rejected first time round and got placed in the Support Group - i am not terminal.
My OH acts as my representative - we signed a form and he does all the talking as like you I am phone phobic - making and receiving calls. It does seem like the usual process though so is not just singling you out. The Benefits and Work website has loads of good resources but I have been on ESA for 4 years now so if you need any help then please PM me xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Thank you, LW for the link x and hugs to you, I took my mum to an ESA medical after her op and it wasn't as scary as the horror stories make out.
Managed to get to aldi and post office on way home, then collected kiddies. They ate for about 2hrs, kept asking for more. Even though apparently they both had 2 portions of meat and potato pie at lunch and 2 of soup and rolls at tea time. They've had bananas, crackers, sausage rolls, cheese and "jelly strings". They'll sink when we go swimming tomorrow...
Haven't done anything else. Cold and tired. Need my bed...Bossymoo

Good evening
1 load washed & dried, expensive jogging bottoms 'borrowed' by DD2 some months ago returned to rightful owner, washing up done. Walked the dog with the girlies, and then we iced biscuits. While i was preparing the icing & toppings, i had a little clearout of OOD sprinkles, etc and other stuff in 2 cupboardsI prepped dinner (ie peeled spuds & carrots) and then had an unexpected empty house & an early finish. So we had the spuds for tea instead.
DH is taking his car to be serviced & 1st MOT tomorrow, so I will need to follow him to the garage & bring him home. Thankfully it is a company car, so won't cost us anythingHe is WFH and then i am off to toddler group with a car full (need to put up extra seats & find extra booster)
I should have used the extra time tonight to do some studying, but I didn'tI am my own worst enemy

Got a teeny tiny ironing pile (due to judicious folding) which I might do in a minute. Kids were fed from the Freezer (and Sunday's cooking marathon) and I still have a shepherd spy left!
I'm supporting a colleague tomorrow with her first ever trip (unpaid) but am to be offered supply when any's available. I'm at the paid stuff Friday *KERCHING* and VERY happy because I will get it next payday, all being well, what with it still being November and all!

Evening all
No flying other than basic laundry and washing up achieved today and tomorrow is not looking any more promising. Busy day on Friday after working/training every day this week which is unusual for me. Looks like flying will be taking place on Saturday whilst DH takes DS3 to his trials.
Will try to catch up with you all at some time tomorrow. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I have continued with the washing mountain. Its still going round and I have at least 3 loads to finish off tomorrow.
I visited Mr T and decluttered a huge amount of money before the school run. Unfortunately it wasn't raining when I left at 1.45 but it was pouring when I went straight to school and had to park miles away (everyone drives when it's tipping down). I've been in my dressing gown since 3.30. I got so wet and cold.
My decluttering continued but I've inadvertently made more mess with different piles for new homes. I'm sorely tempted just to bin the lot but both wheelie bins are full and then next collection is Tuesday.
DH is away in Barnsley tonight, he's rung me about 4 times today (I was rather tear stained when he left this morning). I think he has spoken to the older boys as they haven't wound up the littlies tonight. Small steps and all that.
The WM is spinning so I'm going to empty it and set off another load to run early in the morning. Bedtime is calling.0
