I make around £10 a day from my youtube, I only have 3 million views too. It's perfectly possible to make a decent amount on there.0

You can't throw a link in a forum post, you are allowed to ad one into your profile though.0 -
Can anyone give ideas to what sort of videos would be popular?0
-
Guides are always popular, this can be guides on how to do things in a game. Or guides on how to do practical things in real life. Obviously try to make something that will appeal to a wide range of people though. Not a lot of point of uploading a video if only one bloke and his dog are likely to watch it?0

I tutor for the 11+ and 12+ exams, could this be a good topic for videos??
how do you start though? How can you video yourself showing how to work something out?0 -
If you want to film your face, use a decent webcam or digital camcorder. If you want to record whats happening on screen use some screen capture software. Fraps is good but costs twenty or thirty pounds iirc? or there are a few free ones out there not quite as good though? take the files you have saved from fraps or camcorder and make a vid using windows movie maker, sony vegas or some other software that is available and upload it to youtube?0

I just did a youtube search for 'how to' and there were an amazing array of how to videos from how to trick people into thinking you have big boobs, 17 million views to how to charge an ipod using electrolytes and an onion 9 million views and how to be a ninja 36 million views!! :rotfl:
All these videos are way more successful than mine so I guess these people are making substantial amounts.
If you want to get started then I would type your interest into youtube and see what other people are doing, and what gets alot of views.
Use the google keyword tracker tool to find good keywords for a video. I searched 'how to play'...results below show loads of ideas that would be easy to make a video about if you knew anything about these things

Annie021063, you could have a maths tutoring or lessons channel showing tutorials on specific problems, search 'how to maths' for example on youtube and theres lots of videos on there showing how to solve a specific problem. most of them are just videos of people showing the solution on a wipeboard, that wouldn't be hard to do. (Infact I just watched 1 and it was rubbish!)
The key is to make videos people will want to watch and get alot of views. Yesterday between my 89 videos I got 17,676 views and made £19.50. it's also important to make videos that people watch until the end, my videos that do best are the one's where more that 50% of people watch it til the end, so it's important to make them compelling.
Pleasse don't think you can just upload a couple of videos and make money. (unless it's charlie but my finger!) I had my channel for about a year before I started making money, so it takes time, but once it's rolling the money just keeps coming in (for now anyway!)

If you go into you video manager and 'monetise' the video, it gives it a green square with a dollar sign in it.
However, do you then need to do something else?
It really isn't very clear on their site, and i've never really understood all of teh 'adsense' stuff etc.0 -
