  • Hi Fluffy, thank you for dropping by and commenting, I'm so glad you're making some head way, I think it's getting more and more competative on YT. It doesn't matter how many videos I load, I still never made it back to £20 per day!

However this week I discovered something VERY exiting. A few years ago I loaded 4 videos to a site called dailymotion (a bit like youtube), I haven't logged on for so long. Unbeknown to me they started a revenue sharing program, like youtube, last march and automatically added me as a partner. Anyhow I have a had a few emails from them recently so I logged on to see what it was all about, only to find I had £950 sat there, and the channel is currently generating just over £100 per month, and that was with 4 videos!!!

The vast majority of the views were with the 1 video, it's that flipping cat video again!

Since Monday I've now added a further 51 videos, and will wait with trepidation, this has the potential to be bigger than youtube, and easier, as the videos are already made :T:T

For those that are interested my online gross earnings last year were £8521.40, £6181 of this was youtube.

This year I'm going to target £10k in total, which will top up my pension, aint no taxman getting their hands on that (unless they change the rules in the budget )

Hi Skinnylatte, thank you for the tip about dailymotion, that must have been a lovely surprise to find a balance like that!

I have made an account and like you say the videos are already made so its worth uploading to them too. I think I found you on there and have followed, your vids are great fun.

Good luck with your vids and boosting your pension, Fluffy :)

Thanks for this, I already had a few little video's on there but have now done a 'how to' one, which has also lead on to doing a blog. I don't think I'll be making much from it but it's quite good fun :)

  • I've been putting a few videos on YouTube recently and have a slightly humorous tale to share.

I didn't realise the screen capture software I was using also recorded sound. I've been doing videos based on a world war two strategy game I like to play, I had just uploaded my latest video - "how to invade Poland" and got a surprise when I heard the background music whilst watching the video back for the first time.

Imagine the sight of hundreds of German panzers advancing across the steppe towards Warsaw, the skies full of Stuka dive bombers screaming down onto the hapless enemy, with "We've Only Just Begun" by The Carpenters blaring out.
