5. Start to make really good quality videos
I'd have done this some years ago if I had the equipment to make videos - about stuff people are interested in ..... and the bandwidth to be uploading them and all the other stuff. I don't even use/watch Youtube as my PC/Internet/bandwidth isn't up to it.
All the best to you, glad you found something you can do, enjoy doing, and it's making you money.0 -

Copyright claims are something that have the potential to get an Adsense account banned (once banned that's it forever/life), so it's a good reminder for people to really bone up on copyright, international copyright, Adsense rules, Youtube rules.0 -

What exactly was it that was copy-write material? I am a little unclear.0

Your Youtube channel seems to consist of short animations of cartoon animals singing Happy Birthday to You, which is famously still under copyright. And you're using Kermit the Frog, Darth Vader, Mr Spock, Garfield etc. I'm genuinely surprised you haven't been obliterated by Disney and Warners. I was under the impression that after a certain amount of violations Youtube simply terminates the account.
If I was you I would abandon the idea of animation and simply post a still picture with a voice-over; you could spit out the videos at a greater rate, which is the key to success on Youtube for the small-time ad players. The most recent example I can think of is a channel that has pronounciation guides, that consists of hundreds of thousands of words from a dictionary fed through text-to-speech software, with no human intervention in the creative process.

My experience of the lower end of Youtube is that it consists of computer generated videos being viewed exclusively by automatic view count boosting tools, which requires a fair amount of technical moxie. This is one of the reasons why the occasional moment of genuine warmth and personality - e.g. the guilty dog, or madam with the flying shovel - tends to stand out; they're rare and precious.0 -
What a great idea, I'm going to try and compare 2 videos, exactly the same picture, 1 with animation and 1 without and see what the difference is.
When I use photo's to animate I either purchase them from iStock or do a google search with the 'free license' filter on. The Darthvader one is a picture from deviantart used with the creators permission, and a voice over that I paid some-one to do for me.
Yes happy birthday, as I alarmingly discovered, is copyright, although this is currently being disputed in a US court, the outcome, due later this year, will be interesting.
I would never rip off anyone elses videos or use any tools to boost views, I don't even know how :rotfl:

Ah I see, I didnt realise how your channel worked. You have an amazing following it must be said.
I have now added a second film to my channel.0 -
Would it be worth using twitter to promote a youtube video? I have an account but the tweets happen so often I dont expect people would even notice if I tweeted my link.
I have about 230 followers, I suppose the ones that dont follow much would often have my link near the top of their feed.
I see re tweets and people re posting on big social media is the key to going viral.
Any opinions?

I don't have a lot of success with twitter, I find it very tedious! However I have got Youtube set to automatically tweet when ever I upload something, and they do get a few retweets, so every little helps!Pay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022
