So what damage have you suffered as a result of the QR code then?
.....well apart from losing my house, all my ISAs...OK OK, I was just pee'd off to see such important details made publicly available

PS Talking of the Brightbox router, which I set up today, it has a very annoying habit of suddenly dropping the IP address assigned by the DHCP service at the desktop. So you can have a good connection but then get 'limited or no connectivity' and a local IP address allocated.
The only fix is the 'repair' function in wireless networking. I have dealt with hundreds of different pieces of network kit, and used DHCP on a large scale, and have never seen this dropped allocation whilst in use and with a good connection there is no IP lease time out function to set in domestic routers anyway. I can go over to fixed IP addressing but it can screw up scanning and printing in certain circumstances.Any information given in my posts or replies is intended to be of interest and/or help to members of the forum. Login to the router and set the IP to fixed? (So it's still DHCP but it guarantees to issue the same IP every time).0

Thanks, Bod. I know the workarounds but am bemused by why the IP fails to get applied and authenticated immediately!? This morning I had the usual good connection but limited or no connectivity. It just took 8 'repairs' to finally make a connection this morning...and I know it will drop out soon!!
Also tried the old faithful:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
with the same sporadic results!!
I have never seen this activity before with the settings the same!! I think it is falling over on the security challenge but can handle all flavours......also passes on the same settings as it fails on. As I have three Brightboxes, I might set up another today to see if it is the router or this particular WG111 USB wi-fi dongle that is not talking properly!!

PS I see this is a discussed point in forums and also the Brightbox is nicknamed the "Dimbox".....not the stronger signal I expected than from my old Netgear router!!Any information given in my posts or replies is intended to be of interest and/or help to members of the forum. Just put Brightbox No 2 on...connected immediately....and has dropped out twice in 20 minutes with a 'repair' needed to get the IP address back whilst all the time the connection is good to very good !:mad::mad::mad:
Must be my WG111 dongle that is just not talking DHCP properly to the Brightbox routers...!?
There is a timeout on the DHCP lease..but it is set for 2 days, not 2 minutes! Using a reserved IP for my wi-fi dongle got a permanent connection but nothing coming through on Port 80 (HTTP ie the Internet).....

.....does the same thing with WEP security......so back to original Netgear router and instant success....with very little difference in Wi-fi connectivity!?

Some wifi APs and dongles don't play together nicely, and there can appear to be no obvious reason why.0

Thanks, Bod...have just ordered one of these:
TP-Link TL-WN822N 300MBPS High Gain Wireless N USB Adapter
best price at Amazon and excellent reviews!!!
Maybe it will talk to the Brightbox? (Only plus is that the Orange routers can handle 3 separate SSIDs and act as a data server via its built in USB port!)

..........was waiting for Orange/EE response initially, but as everyone is receiving their routers in this way, I suppose I should asap!
