Thanks bod, so it gets even better. Unlimited BB; Line rental; Free Anytime calls; 500 mins of calls to mobiles from his landline, plus free mobile wifi access. All for 20 PM.
I pay orange 25.52 for BB. They have offered me BB plus line rental, plus free weekend and evening calls for £29.50. No mobile wifi access. However, this was not from the retentions team but from a random sales person.0 -
Hi Baxtor.
I actually cancelled my Orange mobile phone contract several weeks ago after years so thought I had shot myself in the foot. I only did this as my repair kit iPhone simply would not get an Orange signal in the house but Vodafone was really strong.
I was going to go to BT as they are offering Orange BB customers a special deal if they will move over to them, but it has a limited download.
Anyhow, I formally requested my Orange MAC code and got this in a letter about 2 days later.
The next day I got a call from the Orange/EE retention team and played hard to get until a 39 gbp package got to 20 gbp !!!

Thanks for info Vigman,
I am similar to you. A Long-standing orange customer who was considering going over to BT. As you say the BT download limit is 10 gig a month but otherwise a very tempting deal.
Time now to request my Orange MAC code.0 -
Good luck!
BTW the replacement power supply for the Brightbox was a whole new router...again with QR on the packing with all my details!

Although I did drop the mention of compensation for the breach of my data protection in my letter to Orange about the QR codes, I have been advised that I could take legal and civil action if I chose to.

Who on earth suggested you coul take action for a data breach? Only the ICO can do this, and there are no powers for anyone else to raise an action - so it would be money wasted.0

I won't point any fingers (at a local legal professional :rotfl:) but I have now found this:

Thanks

VigmanThis leaflet deals with the right of an
individual to claim compensation from a
data controller for damage or damage and
distress caused by any contravention by a
data controller of the requirements of the
Data Protection Act 1998 (the “Act”).
These rights are contained in section
13 of the Act.
If an individual has only suffered distress,
compensation is not available unless the
processing of the personal data is for the
“special purposes” which means processing
for artistic, literary or journalistic
purposes. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
