The point about the QR code is a valid one ... depending on what details are contained this could be a serious breach of the DPA.
But seeking compensation (for what exactly?) negates the claim and means it won't likely be treated seriously.
I thought of that and amended it!!

Only teasing...you can tell my wife works at a Primary School as a TA...hardly any children say 'please' or 'thank you' but she will wait forever until they do!!!:rotfl:
To be honest I am probably a grumpier old man at only 59...lost my (good) job this year through severe arthritis and fibromyalgia (and a 'restructure') and SO cross I can't do what I want to do these days.
Please to have MSE to come to.....!

Compensation? Really? Consider that letter now binned. Shame as it is a serious issue.Pants0

I'm sure that Orange will have a good laugh at your letter telling them what their "resolution requirements" are and as for compensation, dream on!
What use is this information to anyone other than yourself?
The first thing that you should do is change the passwords yourself and an "IT Manager" would know that wouldn't they?
I also look forward to seeing their reply but mountains and molehills come to mind.
:rotfl:
Annoyingly, you have to ask them to change the system authorisation password over the phone (the one the router uses to authenticate the Orange server). I wish they had a way that you could change this yourself (you can change router password and Orange account password, but NOT system password).
Once I get a three pin head for their strange router PSU adapter I will change all passwords and the wifi service name .......
They are already offering compensation for not putting the home phone order through (a free month) AND I will only be paying 20 pm for unlimited BB, line rental, 'anytime' calls and 500 mobile minutes for the next year!! Negotiated with the Retention team from 38 gbp pm!!

PS As in a later posting, I changed any mention of compensation connected to the DP breach as this is a criminal not civil matter!Any information given in my posts or replies is intended to be of interest and/or help to members of the forum. 1.) You have just shot yourself in the foot, trying to monetize their (potentially) illegal action. In short you are saying "bribe me to keep quiet" (which is pointless as you have already blabbed about it here!)

hi Vigman, Not sure what you mean by "500 mobile minutes". Do you mean access to free mobile wifi for 500 minutes a month for the next year?
You have got a good deal at 20 pm. With unlimited BB and free Anytime calls.
Did you have an orange or t-mobile phone contract in addition to being an orange BB customer.
I say this because I understand that Orange give mobile phone customers better deals than those on Orange BB only.0
