Hi Chris,
I don't know if you have an Advocacy agency in your area but if so they can help you fight your corner. Also Seiks will give food to non Seik's with no strings. Good luck sorry can't be more help.0 -
a friend of mine moved onto a newbuild residential area and didnt have an address for 12months because his house showed as plot number rather than postcode, so issues arose with paying gas bills and electricity, phone, and the dreaded mail service, because of the problems, the site office took in the residential area's post got the work men to diliver the mail because the site plans were there to hand and knew what the streets where going to be called and numbers on houses. my friend used his name plot number and the postcode of the site office for mail untill things were sorted.
if you in a new build and the streets have only recently been named but you still have a site office perhaps that could be a solution for you?0 -
See http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/dmgch42.pdf42271 Where the claimant says the postal difficulties are specific to them or their address, all of their circumstances are to be given fair consideration. They will have to show that they have done enough to ensure as far as is reasonably possible that they receive their mail, special care may be expected in the cases of accommodation addresses and premises in multiple occupation.
42272 Sometimes it may be right to reject a claimant’s allegation of non-receipt where the excuse extends to a number of letters, or is coupled with suspicious circumstances, or if the non-receipt of mail is selective so that only certain letters are not received. However the uncontradicted evidence of the non-receipt of a single letter in plausible circumstances, such as the communal delivery of mail to a particular premises where another person went through the mail before the claimant had a chance to do so may establish good cause.
Is the official guidance.
It is perhaps worth calling them up, and asking for a callback from a decisionmaker. (phone number on the ESA letters) - the people answering the phones have no capability to make a decision.
Also, call ATOS, and see if they will arrange a fresh medical.
It's for obvious reasons worth checking every week if they have done this, if they say they might.0 -
Hi the addresses are like this
7 the street cf5 5ss
7 the street, argyle court cf5 5ss
ah right
yup i know the type of address
had many like it on deliveries
I assume when they miss the Argyle court off,it goes to the default address
thats where the issue comes
TBH theres little can stop that but experienced staff who know the duty and those who live on it0 -
If the OP's house is 7 The Street then Argyle Court (stated to be at the other end of the road) cannot be 7 The Street?
Presumably Argyle Court is actually (say) 17 The Street?
The OP doesn't say whether Argyle Court is a single dwelling or a block of flats.
If a block of flats, then you would also expect the individual flats to have their own numbers.
EG
7, Argyle Court, 17 The Street, Cardiff, CF5 5SS
This needs to be sorted out by the Council/ the Post Office?
Presumably the Council can differentiate for purposes of Council Tax etc?0 -

the OP will need to clarify
but it could be many variations
you needto see the sort of addresses you get
I used to deliver to a road that had houses and an old folks home at the end.
old folks home numbered 1/1 to 1/61 and called ***** court on ****** road.
many many times you get letters addressed to 1 etc **** road, when in fac it should have been 1/1 **** court on **** road.0
