Hi Steph,
One place I can really recommend to sell gold and silver jewellery is gold traders uk as they have helped us out of a hole a few times and one of the few places where you can phone a real person if you are worried and I don't feel like they rip you off. Some of the places that advertise on TV offer really rubbish prices.
But don't take my word for it. Go read the reviews for yourself:
http://www.freeindex.co.uk/profile(gold-traders-uk-ltd)_68830.htm
One time we sent them some gold rings which were really hard to weigh individually as they were so light so we sort of guessed it and when it got there it turned out they weighed more than we thought and so we got more cash!
Thanks for you help with that Fallen, I will check them out xx0 -

Do you pay your CT and Water Bills over 10 months or 12?
If the former, then February and March will be CT and Water Bill free, leaving you a bit extra, which, with care, could get you out of the OD trap.0 -

Hi Bob,
Think the Water is 12 months worth of DD.
Council tax, well I am a month in arrears so will pay Januarys payment in FEbruary. But them I will have March free which will help.
I am also having to throw nearly £600 per month to Littlewoods as I did Interest free on all my perchases which makes the monthly payment very high. Once that is gone hopefully May / June then I will have £600 to kill off the overdraft.
As long as I cut out the Misc spending and have no emergncies then I can get alot more sort by mid 2013.
Just got to hope there are no car breakdowns etc.
Thanks for your help though Bob, Hope you are having a good day.
Your signature looks great only £2.6k to kill off. WEll done xxx0 -
Just under £2.9k actually.
You should've gone to specsavers.
However, with another loan payment due out today, it should be down to just over £2.6k, by tonight.
This time next month, it'll be down to, a whisker over £2.1k.
That tunnel light is getting very bright. :cool:0 -

Ouch!
What were the charges for?
Just wondering if there's anything you can do to avoid more being charged next month....StressedSteph wrote: »Am just worried that I am not putting anything away for emergencies. but how can I when it will just make my OD even worse. I don't feel like I can save any money until I am out of it. Just does'nt seem to make any sense.
I know exactly where you're coming from with this one - what I've ended up doing this month is transferring the amount from my "house & car" savings pot (which is a savings account with the same bank as my main account) into my main account to make the OD level lower and reduce the interest charge.
I will transfer it back to where it should be on payday to keep track of it ... but may move it back again next month (and the month after!)
It's taken me the whole of 2012 to get this pot up & running and really don't want to use the money towards the OD or I'll then be struggling when the stuff it covers is due:(

Hi all
Haha Bob, I was just being psychic, I knew you had a loan payment today. hehe.
Hi Rising,
I did start last year with lots of pots of savings etc but ended up having to raid them just to get through each month, although I was'nt budgeting last year, so hopefully once I get the bank account slightly better, I might have more chance getting some small emergency pots going. fingers Crossed.
On the bank charges, I think they are for a couple of bounced direct debts, and with Barc1ays you have an authorised OD and an emergency OD beyond that. But if you go in to the emergency OD it is mega interest, I am often in that so think its charges for that as well.
Well, I had a stroke of luck today. A friend whose child was also off sick with the bad cold my children have, offered to have both of them while I went into work. How kind of her :T. so in the end I managed 10 -3 pm with half an hour lunch = 4.5 hours :j.
Am quite exhausted now as its a very manual job. I always leave there with a headache, not sure if its me coming down with the same thing the children have or if its the noise in the factory. Having a quiet sit down before I need to start thinking about dinner.
Hope you all had a good day

It's really hard to get them up and running - I've the pets one for years (was always worried one of them would need the vet & I'd not be able to pay for it) and managed to get the "House & Car" one up and running this year (large overpayments at the start so things got to where they were needed in time!) but the "Others" one (dentist, presents, hair etc etc) has fallen by the wayside and I really need to do that one next year....StressedSteph wrote: »with Barc1ays you have an authorised OD and an emergency OD beyond that. Morning Diary and anyone reading,
Children are still off poorly, so should be a quiet slow day at home.
Can't beleive it is only 6 days to Christmas :T.
Am pretty much ready for it, got a couple of things left to wrap, but that will have to wait until the children are either in bed tonight or back to school tomorrow (Hopefully).
Have been jiggling my finances and am trying to be as frugal as possible, there is still a chance a couple of direct debits will bounce in January. Its a pain that quite a few bills go out in the first week of every month. Has anyone ever heard if you can ring companies to get them to change the direct debit date?.
Got to finish my tesco online order today, am desperately trying to keep it at the £70 mark and still make sure we have a balance of nice bits and basics. I haven't budgeted for another food shop until the weeek beginning the 7th January so got to make sure we have enough meals to last.
I have a bad habit of only thinking about Christmas dinner and then realising there isn't really any food in for the rest of the week. Maybe I might make a meals list for the two weeks , just in case.
Have had alot of help from a kind MSE'r called Tiglath. Trying to help me get my Excel Spreadsheet to auto balance. Will have to see if I can figure it out today.
Doubt today will be a NSD, Kiddies have a Christmas Party tomorrow and DD has to take in a plate of salad or fruit. and DS has to take in something savoury. As Tesco's isn't delivering till tomorrow night, I haven't really got anything nice in the house to send them with .
Hope you all are having a good morning

Hi Steph,
I have changed DD dates before when my payday changed, just give them a call. Only one ive had a problem with council tax as they only have set dates you can choose.
Could you look for bogofs on the food so that youve essentially got 2 weeks shopping. Also dont forget the kids will get selection boxes etc so you dont need to go overboard on the biscuits.
Hope this helps xxMummytogirls x0
