Hello Steph,
Wow a lot of posts since I came on here on Thursday.
So sorry to hear about your DD being a little down. My DD1 was 6 in November and she got a bike from us and I felt like there wasnt much there. Especially because it cost us 99p from Ebay ... it was honestly like brand new and I did have to remind myself she was having an expensive party!
Im sure she will be fine, youve prepared them about Christmas and im sure one year wont do them any harm.
My DD2 was 3 in January and we bought her a lovely bike from Halfords and when she saw it, she stamped her feet and screamed... I told you I didnt want that one! I couldnt believe it haha!! Weve got it filmed and everything.
Thing was the previous year was just after DH found out about the debt so she didnt get much so we felt guilty and spent a bit more and this was what we got... spoilt little s0d!!!!
Good news about DH's work, hope he had a good meeting xxxMummytogirls x0 -
Hi all,
Been a busy weekend. We spent the day dispatching all the turkeys, Geese & ducks. all that hard work is done now. they will hang for a week and then we will dress them and deliver them to Friends and family next Sunday/monday. Phew....At least the animal feed costs will go down now they are gone .
DD had three friends round for a little party today. Lots of pass the parcel and musical statues. I let the winner choose from a chocolate hanging from the tree (Cheap from L1dl).
I now have lamb chops roasting waiting for DH to come back from his overtime?.
Had a No spend Weekend so doing pretty well. DD has been full of a cold but has cheered up. Think her mood was mostly down to her having a bad head cold.
Doing some seasonal work Monday onwards, hoping there's enough work for the whole week. That should bring in some extra money.
Thanks for all your kind messages, Friday was a really low day for me, but perked up again now. I know its abit Baaa-humbug, but I will be so glad to get past Christmas. Think I mostly want the season of BIG SPENDING to be overwith so I can get on with saving every penny without all the pressure to spend.
Hope you are all having a great cheap weekend.

Haven't really got a clue how to sell jewellery. Found a few very similar to it on Ebay for around £400-£500 but as I can't really read the hallmark very well I guess maybe I ought to take it to a jewellers and get it valued.xx
Hi Steph,
Been reading your diary over the last couple of days and saw this.
My OH had a gold ring that she couldn't identify the hallmark on and she used this site Hallmark Identification Wizard to identify it.
You work your way through page by page and it identifies the location and date that the gold is from and also the purity.0 -

Hi Steph, congratulations on everything you've achieved so far
.
A couple of sites I would recommend are www.supersavvyme.co.uk and www.bzzagent.co.uk . Supersavvyme has loads of money off coupons (top right hand corner of site - it's a bit of a silly one to navigate) which can really help with the shopping. You can often use coupons from there alongside other coupons from store magazines etc to make products virtually free!
Also on supersavvyme there is a link in the top right hand corner to join the Savvy Circle. That and BzzAgent are sites that run campaigns to test new products. If you're a member you will be invited to join trials from time to time and you get sent free products along with money off vouchers (theoretically to pass to friends, but I always keep and use them!).
You won't get rich from sites like those, but the odd freebie gives you a bit of a lift when the going seems tough.
Hope the birds give your income a healthy boost, and I will pop back from time to time to see how you're doing xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Thanks for all your replies everyone.
Boy am I worn out. I worked at a farm today. Only managed 9 till 3 when I got a phonecall from school that DS felt sick and needed collecting. So I lost an hours worth of work.:(.
He does'nt seem too bad now he is home, so am hoping hoping hoping that he isn't sick tonight, so I can get another days work in tomorrow. There is only work until Wednesday lunchtime now as they are getting the job done quicker than expected. I would love to get another days work in to make it feel like it was worth doing, as I expect its only minimum wages.
I have a stinking headache so hope I am not coming down with something, it was probably from all the noise from the machines today. Not used to working for a living.
DH got paid today and just paid another bill

Hi Steph,
One place I can really recommend to sell gold and silver jewellery is gold traders uk as they have helped us out of a hole a few times and one of the few places where you can phone a real person if you are worried and I don't feel like they rip you off. Some of the places that advertise on TV offer really rubbish prices.
But don't take my word for it. Go read the reviews for yourself:
http://www.freeindex.co.uk/profile(gold-traders-uk-ltd)_68830.htm
One time we sent them some gold rings which were really hard to weigh individually as they were so light so we sort of guessed it and when it got there it turned out they weighed more than we thought and so we got more cash!0 -
Morning all,
I have both my children off sick today with bad sore throats and temps. Feel sorry for them but also abit annoyed as I can't work today. Nevermind.
They are both relaxing watching Ice Age at the moment so I have a minutes peace.
Have balanced the spreadsheets this morning and nearly died when I looked at the bank balance. My bank has taken £35 Interest for my OD & £98 of Charges . I have got to fight so hard to get out of this overdraft, it is costing me a small fortune.
January looks very tight, So think I will still get some bank charges in January, but if I can stick to the budget, February starts to look a little more hopeful.
Am just worried that I am not putting anything away for emergencies. but how can I when it will just make my OD even worse. I don't feel like I can save any money until I am out of it. Just does'nt seem to make any sense.
Well it will be another NSD day today, especially with the children home from school.
Hope you all have a good day
Will check in later xx0
