Thanks for your well wishes all, Thats exactly why I bought their Ipods housework Fairy. I was so fed up of the hogging my phone. Its lovely now...Cah have my own games to play :rotfl:.
Lovely quiet Boxing day here, telly has been abit crummy, but have played board games and chilled out.
Hope all is well in MSE land xxx0 -
Evening Diary,
Have had quite a good day today. Brother-in-law and his son came round for lunch and the children all played nicely.
After he left I have sat at the computer and had a good look at our 2013 spreadsheet. I have a £170 shortfall by the time I get to the first week in February, so I need to figure out a way to make that money during January and also NOT to spend even a penny off the budget otherwise I will need to find more money.
Once we can get passed January & February then the finances start to show the benefit for all our scrimping and I have calculated that by July 2013 I would have paid off Littlewoods, Next and the overdraft. Which equals around 7.4k :T.
So I need to spend the next few days digging around looking for things to sell that might raise some money. Any ideas anyone??
I have joined the January 2013 Grocery Challenge thread and have signed up for £200. That works out at £50 per week. Going to be a struggle as I only managed £70 per week during November & December.
Anyway, off to carve some more turkey so yet another turkey sandwich....yum yum xxxx0 -
Just de-lurking and wishing you luck on your way steph, I hope January turns out to be a good month for you, and I'll be following your challenge along the way.

Hi Steph, just dropping by to make sure you know it's free listing on eb@y at the minute until 1st Jan? So basically list anything you can get your hands on and there's nothing lost if it doesn't sell.
Do you have any gold to sell? Surveys to complete and cash out on? Are you able to eat from stores to shave some cash from your shopping budget? Any old savings accounts that might have interest lurking in them? Can you pay less council tax and make it up in your 'free' months (assuming you pay 10 months not 12 & the council are happy to do so?). Can you weigh in old clothes/textiles? Thanks for your replies Cazzy and PLMBL.
Ooooh great news about the free listings. Got nothing planned at all tomorrow, so going to try to find at least 17 items that might make £10 each on Ebay and get them listed.
I have a more pressing problem at the moment - DD has a front tooth hanging by a thread and I don't have a £1 to pay for the bloomin tooth fairy . There certainly is a downside to having a savings money tin that won't open .
Also our boiler has stopped working . Hubby is busy reading the manual at the moment in the vain hope that he can resolve it himself. It is only 1.1/2 years old and was serviced this summer so heaven only knows why it isn't working..Grrrrrr. Hoping that isn't going to blow my 2013 budget before it even starts. Definately have to find ALOt to Ebay now0 -
GL with eBay Steph, I'm tidying my room tonight, I have an ulterior motive, my last treat to myself before starting my frugal 2013 was a brand new double divan from the dreams sale, it's 10 times better than the broken single I have! So my aim for tomorrow is eBaying too.Lose 1st 7lb

Evening.
Well here's an update.
Thankfully DD tooth is hanging on (literally...Yuck). Imagine I am going to have to find that £1 tomorrow though for definate. Might try shaking my Sealed pot to see if I can persuade a £1 coin to fall out
Boiler still not working. Hubby has left a message with a plumber friend for abit of advice. Hopefully it is easily resolved or we are doomed.
Have just listed abit of my late Grandma's jewellery. Her bracelet and two rings. I know she paid in excess of £500 for the bracelet 15-20 years ago, so have put a decent buy it now price but started it low. both the rings are under £100 but worth more as money for me at the moment than sitting in a box for the next 20 years. Fingers crossed they sell for a decent amount.
Going to have a sit down now and have more of a think of what I can sell on Ebay tomorrow.
