    Best to just ignore them.

Hi, I got parking ticket on my car from UK Car Park Management Ltd from Worthing, before Christmas. I appealed straight away and sent my appeal by recorded delivery. I have just received a reply back in a second class envelope to say I have been unsuccessful.
As others have said, you are OK not paying and ignoring them.

However, in their rejection (and even on the original notice), did they mention your ability to appeal to POPLA? They should have sent you a reference number for POPLA and information on how to appeal. If not, they are breaking the BPA Code of Practice, and should be reported for so doing.

Just to point out POPLA is a kangaroo court set up by parking companies, run by a directer of parking company trade association.
So dont go down that route.
    Be happy...;)

    We all know that :).
Just wondering if UK Car Park Management have been breaching the BPA AOS and thus worthy of a complaint to the DVLA.

Thanks you two for the quick response I have been so worried about this. Do I need to report these people to anyone? Or should I let "sleeping dogs lye" so to speak.
    Phew

Do ignore them - but also be ready for the debt collector letter chain that will spew out for a few months. We don't have any pics of UKCPM's letters but I expect they use the usual suspects shown here like the Debt Recovery Plus letter chain or Roxburghe, take a look now and be READY:

Honestly just ignore them though, in the absence of actual Court papers which is almost unheard of - and very defendable with help from here. :)

  • Hi, no mention of POPLA in my letter. I am a bit worried as I spoke to my friend who I was visiting at the time and she said she had got a parking ticket and paid it and has heard nothing since. Don't know if it was CPM or not though. My parking ticket was put on my car a 8.15pm. Isn't that a bit late to be putting tickets on cars. So I really really shouldn't pay this ticket ????

No, it's a scam and your friend is an idiot for paying it (sorry). He/she only had to Google 'private parking tickets scam' or 'private parking ticket do I pay or ignore?' and they'd have saved their money. It's like sending money to a phishing emailer.

Just tick off each matching letter, once you know which debt collector template letters are used, and laugh at the scammers.

Just treat it all like junk mail .... Are you scared of junk mail?

Their only hope in getting any money from you is to try and scare you into believing the rubbish they write.

Hundreds of people on here have ignored their letters and nothing happened.

Come back if you get any more junk mail.

Could the planned visit refer to a proper council parking ticket and not one issued by a PPC? The reason I ask is that you talk about parking outside a house.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
