I now have 4 applications being considered; all of these jobs I would love to do... fingers & toes crossed I get interviews

My uncle died earlier today, he was 81, no wife or children. Not sure what I feel, he was the most awkward, opinionated so-and-so who was consistently rude and obnoxious to everyone :o families eh

Lol I am the stationary prefect at work. I hold the key to the cupboard but don't get out of my chair all day :rotfl:

I hate it when people don't talk proper, like what I do. :D

Joking aside, it's shocking from people responsible for the education of our youngsters.

Speaking of youngsters, mine are in bed. We went to see the coca cola truck, DS was in awe, but DD had a hissy fit. She did have the nap first but woke in a rotten temper. Anyway, they have been dunked and hair washed, and story then bed, bless them. Both tired from the "weekend of the tummy" lol.

I've whizzed round clearing the last bits away, now snaffling a bit of supper. Think a shower before bed is in order.

My granny has had a series of strokes this weekend. She's in hosp in the neuro ward where my husband was. Am obviously going to visit, but it's the first time I'll have been back there :( She is thankfully "ok" although it won't be clear for some months what the permanent damage is. My mum says she is comfortable and lucid and not distressed, and she understands what's happened. We're a big family so she will get someone in with her every day. But I fear her desire to live in her own house alone isn't realistic now.
Why on earth she wasn't wearing her emergency call out pendant is beyond me... (my aunt found her on the floor and she'd been there all night

    Poor granny.

Good news on the loathing of dusting front. I dug out a fevver duster yesterday and skipping around the house took about 10 minutes, rather than the usual 30, so the yellow things will be used a lot less in future. Does anyone have any tips on how to clean or wash the modern synthetic version of feather dusters? It appears to need a bit of a clean itself and from what I can remember it has a special finish on the fibres to attract dust. I don't want to compromise that by using the wrong product on it.

When you wash them ,do not use fabric conditioner ,you probably don`t, but it cuts down the static which is what attracts the dust.
Do I need it or just want it.

    Oh good grief

On another thread a poster has said that she'd love stationary for Christmas...staplers, office equipment etc. (Presumably she wants it all to stay still).

I wouldn't mind but she's 'just qualified as a primary school teacher'.

Obviously not heard of "E for envelopes" (how I remind my kids of the difference). DS2' old school had a drawer that was labelled stationary and it anoyed me every time I had a meeting there.
I was taught it was stationEry with the learning method of E as in Envelope.

I was also taught it was an E for Stationery if it involved paper/pens etc.. If it was being used to describe something that stands still, or hasn't moved then use the a :D

Still it reminds me of this that I read from The DM the other day - I was horrified to say the least.

Hugs Bossy hope granny is reasonably comfortable in hospital, and it isn't too hard for you when you go and visit her.

    Quite, Natty.

It's dreadful. I admit to making typos but when you have 'supposedly' educated professionals who write 'your doing so well'... what more can I say?

    Anyway *gets down from soapbox*

I may well not be around to much this week - I have a busy schedule. Happy flying, folks!

    - hope Granny is soon better and hope the visit is not too draining for you x

Thanks for your comments - it gets me so cross...

Had a run in with a teacher at my school with a drawer labelled stationary - I had told her it was wrong - she claimed she had asked someone else and it was right actually and I was wrong.

    Asked someone else?

Anyway I brought a dictionary and showed her the definitions of both words...since OfStEd were about to visit.

(In fact I had a PM battle with another poster - about a similar issue...now if THAT poster hadn't mentioned she was a NQT and teaching secondary English I wouldn't have bothered!)

I work in a primary school where a visit from Ofsted is anticipated. One of the pack lunch trolleys has the name of a class teacher with the apostrophe in the wrong place! I have reported this to 4 members of staff INCLUDING the head - and nothing has been done!

But this week I walked into a KS1 classroom which has a display about festivals involving lights - including.... Bon Fire Night! I thought bonfire was 1 word - it certainly was when I went to school...
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
