Oh good grief
On another thread a poster has said that she'd love stationary for Christmas...staplers, office equipment etc. (Presumably she wants it all to stay still).
I wouldn't mind but she's 'just qualified as a primary school teacher'.

Anyway, I've popped to the shops and picked up a very tired and cranky DD fro Brownie camp. Most of the house looks like a bomb has gone off. I need to get uniforms ready for the morning and then I'll see what else gets done..............hope you have all been more successful than me.........xx0 -

Obviously not heard of "E for envelopes" (how I remind my kids of the difference). DS2' old school had a drawer that was labelled stationary and it anoyed me every time I had a meeting there.
Food cupboard sorted
Crisp cupboard sorted
Kids' room sorted, charity bag filled & a bag filled with books for selling
Ironing done
DS2 entertained with forgotten toys from bedroom
Roast dinner made, eaten & cleared away
Time to put my feet up perhaps? :A0 -
Thanks for your comments - it gets me so cross...
Had a run in with a teacher at my school with a drawer labelled stationary - I had told her it was wrong - she claimed she had asked someone else and it was right actually and I was wrong.
Asked someone else?
Anyway I brought a dictionary and showed her the definitions of both words...since OfStEd were about to visit.
(In fact I had a PM battle with another poster - about a similar issue...now if THAT poster hadn't mentioned she was a NQT and teaching secondary English I wouldn't have bothered!):eek:Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Aaaaaarrrggghhhh
I once replied to a job advert for an administrator in a 'stationary office' and was so tempted to add that I would be glad to be working in such an office as all the other offices I had worked in had jiggled around something terrible!!

Evening!
Today didnt go a planned - theres a surprise.
I went shopping, walked down as it was lovely out althoug blustery, and got DH to collect me as he had my car on charge.
Came back and instructed DH to do the washing and put the shopping away, no problems there, he's still going (and cooking dinner).
I gave DS room a hoover and dust then moved onto DD's and thats pretty much as far as I got (nothing like the battles of old some of you will remember) discovered not just a damp patch on her wall but a wet patch and mould. She's had a cough for about 5 weeks so that could be why. So the rest of the day has been spent clearing out the spare room so that she can move in there. The whole of upstairs has been turned upside down, I now have no laundry cupboard or ironing spot but at least DD will be warm and dry and hopefully her cough will improve. The rest of the house is therefors still pants.
Well DH has just called me through so dinner is either ready (timing said it should be but he's useless at that) or he will be needing my help.
Back later xMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
I managed to get the ensuite completely cleaned except re-doing the coving for a second time with the homeb@se mould remover (my balance on a chair is decidedly "off").
Very chuffed, all taps de-limescaled, shower cubicle de-limescaled (very, very hard water here.....nice to drink cold, but starts to scale after every use, and means using lots of washing powder/cleaning stuff to get anything clean!) de-grotted electric toothbrush holder yeuuurch :eek::eek: managed to use up some stray contents so less bottles in ensuite now.....down to just toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner and shower spray on show in there now :j. Buffed up the bathroom scales. Straightened up the towels on the rail.
I swear DD2 is on a bathroom destroying mission - she has just decided to bleach the faded blue out of her hair in the main bathroom because I was in the en-suite :mad::mad: so I will have to go in and make sure she has S&S PROPERLY so there is no grey staining grotty stuff left around......and she was ABOUT to start putting blue hairdye in her hair sitting on the carpet using the hallway mirror :mad::eek::mad::eek::mad: It is Ex's house, he would go berserk if blue dye ruins the main bathroom he installed a few years back or the hallway carpet (even though the carpet has seen a better life before we moved in 6 years ago....it was a job to get a round tuit :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
I have now shoo-ed her into the freshly cleaned en-suite (but original undecorated 30+ year old bathroom) to do it, as I stand a better chance of getting the hair dye off laminate than I will out of the hallway carpet (perm lotion gets FRESH hair dye out of carpet- only if applied immediately, but I haven't got any in the cupboard , but if the dye starts to set next to useless - where can I get perm lotion at 7pm on a Sunday night?????)
Trying to be a fly-lady seems to be frustrating and rewarding, but not always in equal measure.....
Time to venture in the main bathroom ..........and remind myself I need to keep my blood pressure low, and committing murder will only result in more cleaning :rotfl::eek::rotfl:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
