I would like to declare at £530 out of £550. My month doesn't end until the 31st but my total includes £13 to buy any essentials between now & then in case I need, bread milk etc. First month under budget
Maybe I should add an extra £100 every month to make it easier
1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100
MFW 2013 no. 62 £10,000/£10,000
MFW 2014 no 62 £8000/£70000 -
Popping in to report a spend of £6.65 today on some lunch items for today and Monday.
Will definitely come under budget this month - simply because money is scarce after present shopping, so won't be buying much until payday in the New Year (and even then I'll hold off until the majority of my current stock is used up)Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300
Grocery Challenge 13 -spent £1453.06
Grocery Challenge 12 -spent £1565.510 -
Spends of £9.13 today - I can't seem to resist the yellow stickers even if I don't really need any food!! Next week I must actually EAT what's in my crammed full freezer...Savings target: £25000/£25000

On my 6th NSD in a row but will not make it to number 7 as need a few things tomorrow.
Do have lots still in but running low on fruit and few other odds and ends.
Took a large beef roasting joint out of freezer to have on boxing day but we didnt use it, in fact it never even got cooked. Had to cook it today though so diced it up and cooked it with some onions and potatoes and just waiting for it to go cold so as can portion it up and freeze it again, it will be used in meat and potato pie. Seemed a bit of a waste to use it in this waybut it HAD to be cooked today and its one way it will get eaten later on. Where I am going to put it I have no idea but there's always some room in mums freezer so it will no doubt end up there tomorrow.
Am thinking of what to do for Sunday as dont fancy another roast type/christmas lunch, but we have mum here and she is a fussy eater and there are loads of things she just wont try. Will probably look on the fish counter tomorrow and see what looks good and have some simple grilled fish with veg for a change, perhaps some warming soup first.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
hi everyone i have a few days left of the challange but only need a few odds and ends so although my current spends for this month total at just under £125 i will add on another £20 for the odds and ends we need, (should be under £20) which brings me to a grand total of £145 for december ...........
see you over in 2013's thread !!! :eek:200 weeks £25,000.00 / £7000 -
Hello Everyone, hope you all had a magical christmas and got everything you wished for. I have been so busy with christmas and keeping people happy i hardly had time to think, so im logging a spend of £60 in A$da on 17th,was a bit more than normal cause we decided to do a 2 week shop to save going to sm on xmas eve. Takes our total to £135.45. Next shop will be Monday which will be from January's budget. Im back to work in 2 weeks if my lil boy is better, we were in a&e this morning at 6am and it seems he may have bronchiolitis, so im really hoping he doesnt get any worse and need to be admitted. Although he seems to have perked up a bit since then.
Hope everyone has a merry new year.

smelkel87 - sorry to hear your DS is poorly - sending (((hugs)))
DH and I went to T's today to get some bits for tomorrow (having my extended family over for a buffet) plus NYE when we will be hosting a party  Even more  as I'm working NYD :eek:
Anyway, this food/drink is from a different budget but the fact that it was over £100 still left me reeling.
Need to settle up with 2nd purse, so will update sigs in a bit.
Thanks to everyone for the replies about the frozen double cream (with lumpy bits). That's very useful to know for next time
