Hi everyone. Couldn't face the shops again after Friday's battle so I am declaring on £195.18 which is officially the cheapest Christmas we have ever had :j The other amazing thing is that now i have finished cooking and baking we have loads of lovely stuff and don't feel even remotely deprived so thanks for all your great advice :A

See you all over on January and have a great Christmas

Thanks Tessie I have done this in the past and have a policy letter. That was from when they were just fobbing people off saying it was no longer policy. Today they were saying it was policy but not if your refund was greater than the 2.00 , and as one of the items should have been 3.00 then I couldnt have the card. Confusing and I think made up on the spot.
    in fact lied to.

But yes thanks I think you are right it would be better to write to them than email. What really made me angry was the fact that no apology was offered and it was implied that I should be grateful to get such bargains.

I do very well out of Asda and they get very little profit out of me as I buy reduced whenever I can.

I have 300.00, 2 gift cards to get the 12.00 bonus so I now plan to make
these last as long as I can, am going to try reducing budget to 50.00 a month and see how I go. Got loads in and hate going out in the cold so we will see.
Declaring now as away until the 31st so see you all over on the January challenge, Have a wonderful Christmas everyone.

When I had an electric knife it used both blades but if you don't have a slot for both then I would say the serrated is for bread and the plain for meat. Good luck!
yes i had that with mine i used it for bread

what kind of slicer did you get? I want to get one in the new year & would like to hear any recommendations!

I have a lakeland slicer, and I must admit that I wonder how I got on without it.

I can slice meat wafer thin so that it goes a lot further and it is easy to clean.

    HTH :)

I did my shopping last Friday at Asda at 6am - got up at 5am - and was home by 7am. The only problem was the crates in the middle of the aisles!
Christmas dinner - easiest ever. Prep'd veg on Christmas Eve, then I'd made titchy Yorkshire puds a few days ago in my mini muffin tin from Lakeland, all I had to do was boil the veg, put roasts in oven (a small turkey breast and a small pork roast) then little sausages, stuffing, roast pots, and the titchy puds last. Gravy at the last minute and Hey Presto! No problem and very stress free! Parents came at tea time for a snack type tea and we played a silly game and watched TV.

Back to work today. Can't believe how many people were out and about.

GC- I haven't kept track properly but I'm fairly sure I'm more or less on target, and I still have my Adsa card with the £150 that I saved up, so it'll pay for at least half of January's food.

See you over on the January thread.
    Happy New Year!
