Cant remember who posted about how awful the latest boxes of Te$co Value rice pops are. I've recently switched to these cereals and they've not been too bad but my DH just had bowl of newest box and they are awful!
Did you complain to Te$co about them? Who did you contact cos I cant find any email address for food complaints?
    Thanks Ax

    Hi Mamjak, and welcome!

It was me that mentioned the Tesc0 EV rice pops - I've written to them as I couldn't find an email address either - so will let you know when I get a response.

£5.21 spent in Lidl today and planning a bigger shop in Sainsbobs tomorrow, as I've got a £3 off a £30 shop voucher and about £7 in nectar points to use up, so thought I'd go there for a change. Need to eat stuff out of the freezer this week to free up some space for next week's shopping for a few bits of 'party food' for over Christmas.

Right sorry, I went off into such a rant on my last post that I forgot to make mention of my uber bargains.. :D Last night I clearly hit Mr T at 'the right time' for some mega meaty reductions. Others had already grabbed the all the mince (but that was Value stuff and I'm quite particular about mince meat..) but I did manage to snaffle 4 packs of kidney for the pooches and cats at 10p each, 4 decent sized rainbow trout for the pooches and cats for £1.25 which I hacked rather unceemonilously into chunks incl the head and tails and froze into seperate bags (we don't eat fish), a pack of Value rump steak for 20p, now sliced into 2 bags for either curry or tortillas, a pack of physalis for 30p (yum and I can save the seeds to try growing my own for next year) and a pack of bread rolls for 18p for when I have soup at work. Oh, and a tray of profiteroles for 13p that I've put aside for a dessert option for Christmas day, Mmmmmm

Not bad reductions for £2.50 odd me thinks :) Woo Hoo!

  • Had a few NSds this week due to starting my new job as a nanny/housekeeper. Not had that role before except for my own family but it is working out well with lovely people I am looking after! Home today so having a cooking session for myself and have made 2 shepherds pies using quorn and oats with lots of veg and a nice big flan with peaches and cherries on top topped off with AF Polish jelly which is like quickjel.
Also made some veg soup spiced up with some chilli oxo granules and garlic. Got alll the bits of unwanted cereal from the cupboards and fed the birds and swapped around my cupboards. Did a little bit of decluttering and making sure all is done at home before going to work tomorrow. I have a pile of ironing but I may or may not do it-I had to find a new home for the iron as it doesnt fit into the holder the other one did. Only 2 days to go before DS repays me some of what he owes! He is very good though-I am always top of his list.

Thank you for your good wishes re the job interview. I got the job:D:j. It is a 6 month secondment but in an area that I want to work in so it is up to me now to prove my worth and get it extended or a permanent job.

Still under budget, even after the beer and Chinese I am planning to have tonight to celebrate:D

I have decided that I am going to run my GC the same as I did this month which was 4 weekly from child benefit to child benefit payment and this avoid the issues with 4 and 5 week months. So in Jan I am going for £400 and an extra £50 for the Christmas bits I still need

  • wow shortie those are some impressive bargains! I have found the larger shops seem to have a lot more meat in the whoopsies section but most that I see are just 50% off!

Small spend for me today taking advantage of coupons, £1 to Mr. T. I also got some of my usual moisturiser at less than half price but that's a different budget!

I'm gearing up to make my sourdough bread this weekend.. my starter is looking much more lively than it was last week so fingers crossed they come out a bit better this week! Maybe it just needed a couple of weeks to get going :D

Small spend today on sparkling water, gravy , stuffing, baked beans and smoked salmon pieces. Total spend £4.06.

Will need fruit, bread and milk this weekend but we are sticking to the meal plan so we should be able to last until our final December shop which will be just before Christmas. Actually looking quite hopeful :D

well done on achieving your goal this month.

Went to A!di earlier and it was heaving. Spent £35.45 but this included some of the food for Christmas.
Brought some of their pickled red cabbage but its not crunchy at all so will not be buying it again. :( DH will eat it or would take it back and complain. Dont know if its a one off or if it is usually like this.
