Mortgage Adviser Trainee - Magazines?

  • I am in my first two years in mortgages despite having been in the financial advice industry since 1993. Its difficult, particularly if you are self employed and there have been times when I felt like walking away, but then I reminded myself I would be lucky to earn 25k in an employed role due to the region I live in. I hung in there, grafted, explored new avenues of lead generation, invested what I earnt and learnt a lot of hard lessons along the way. I'm still learning - we all are. Luckily, very early on I met someone who became a sort of mentor, more on marketing than anything and that really helped me. Advisers are a secretive bunch and when you ask how they generate their leads they seldom will tell, but this one giving individual did. I now, 19 months later have my own limited company which is doing exceptionally well to date and just about to start a radio adverting campaign. It CAN be done, but you have to be stubborn, willful and have the ability to persevere and bounce back when you end up on your @rse (which you will a few times before you get established)

    Best of luck to you

    MM

That does apply to all self-employed roles - I can say that having been self-employed for 24 years come June 2007!

Pease expand , as your post mentions 4 names and maybe condems 1 unnamed , but leaves a slur on the the others without further clarification
Payless Sorry for slow reply but I have been with clients. I was not condeming anyone as I have no issue with how any of the brokers here work. I see no reason why they shouldnt trawlthe site if they want to. As far as I am concerned people should be free to help posters in any way possible. In the posters mind they want answers to questions and I dont really think it matters who gives it or how they give it as long as the info is reasonably accurate.
I am not going to name anyone as I am happy with all that names above. However this thread was about mortgage adviser trainees and then was hijacked by Kenshaz who has done nothing here but try and cause division and in fighting. there are no sensible posts from him. he has upset several brokers and has no benefit to thye questions posed by posters. In fact I would say he is worse than spurs_NUT because at least he is funny.
as Dunston says you may get some business off here but it is not likely to give you a good living. it seems Kenshaz has a problem with any one making any money presumably because he doesnt have the ability to here. I think he should apologise to all that he has offended here starting with Shameless.
I like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)

You may not see it as a condemnation , but what you have posted implies 1 of the 4 is breaking the site rules, and as such I feel needs clarification to protect those others you mention.

Payless you are doing what you criticise others for here. Dragging out a minor point which proves nothing and is completely pointless for the sake of arguement.

Far from it, I think at least 3 people's names deserve to be cleared

Why are you so defensive about it? Kenshaz has been accusing me of touting for months - I'm here most days helping out in my spare time - when Kenshaz made his list of brokers who he thought we acceptable I didnt see any of you jumping up and down defending the brokers who were left off his respected list. What is it "I'm alright Jack so sod everyone else" You obviously know its not you as you are never here so I don't see why you are pushing the point other than to create more ill feeling.

Would you please refrain from defending Mr Helpful ,allow him to defend his own actions and breaches of the code of conduct, that way you will not become implicated.

If he is unable to explain or defend his actions the moderators will have to decide future action, but it is certainly not your role or position to become involved.I would certainly not request a third party to defend me,it is demeaning.

I will certainly continue to report as directed in a recent post by Martin.

Please allow Payless to investigate the comment and possible breach of the code .

Quite frankly Kenshaz I could not give a monkeys you what you think and I won't take orders off you either.

My comments were not a defence of helpful, I was simply pointing out that payless is doing what he tut tuts at others for doing, which is dragging out a snippet of a comment for arguements sake - if he is respected and so much better than anyone else then he would not be contributing to this current dischord would he?
