well have emailed them twice regarding the £10 but no answer as yet. i do think they could have emailed everyone who had the winning email regarding the points or are they hoping a lot of people wont notice??

has anyone else heard back from them that the points will be credited?

I fully intend to spend my £10 in store and donate £10 to children in need in their behalf. No monumental f**k up in my eyes and I think it is a grand gesture to offer every single person 1000 points. Well resolved boots, I happily spent £30 in there last night xx

i totally agree! that was a very grand gesture! so undeserved by so many moany greedy people! so please you are happy!

other people should take heed and thank their lucky stars they have got a nice little win so near xmas. It really was a mistake and so much nastiness has preceeded.

Thank you for this post x

Funny old world, I can accept human error (especially as I don't shop in boots or buy hair procucts), but can't believe the hilier than thou attitude of some people who (probably fall into the comping foru 'fun') or have registered on here after the 'error/competition end date' to express disgust, which means they don't thank or are an active member of these forums
  • Was in boots for one of the final draw. No other customers to see the draw so didn't make it obvious that I was waiting for it. The staff member draw the ticket and the customer had not put her number on. One member said to another "draw again she hasn't filled in telephone no". Wonder if you had t filled in email you were put in the trash.

i did not enter the competition so did not get to feel the highs and lows of emotions caused by this cruel mistake

it would appear that some entrants have been affected more than others by this, while some maybe more than happy with a £10 gift voucher

others are likely to feel very depressed or embarrassed at having told work colleagues, it is possible that it will weigh heavily on there mind and they will suffer some kind of post traumatic stress disorder

i think they have good cause to press for proportionate recompense

just because there are thousands of disappointed people does not mean they should not be treated as individuals

by a simple mistake made in good faith last week, a already rich man now gets to receive £185K for the inconvenience of being called a bad name

the victims of this competition get £10 worth of points

"Post traumatic stress disorder" just because they are not getting to go to Barcelona. OMG I cannot believe we are talking this level. I am sorry but an example of "post traumatic stress disorder" is what our people serving in the likes of Afghanistan suffer seeing their comrades blown to pieces. How on earth can you even begin to compare something like that to not winning a trip to poxy Barcelona?

Compensation? why? What financial loss has anyone suffered? So, what should Boots do? Send 9000 people to Barcelona? Oh and if they do, who pays? Yes you and I, higher prices. Whilst we are at it why don't we all sue for £0000000s, lets shut Boots down, lets put all those thousand of people out of jobs. What about the poor person who made the mistake. Perhaps they should be put in front of a firing squad?

Please please please, lets put this into perspective. If ANYONE thinks they are going to be depressed, embarrassed or even think they are going to suffer PTSD then they need to think about the plight of people who have really suffered horrific events in life ie been tortured, brutally raped etc

    Honestly words fail me

  • how on earth do you know that most of comp entrants are vulnerable females, what a load of tosh.

We got an email, it was wrong, we are being offered a small apology of compensation. For goodness sake everyone get a grip, get over it, move forward and carry on comping for as long as you enjoy it.

Oh and I too got the emails and was disappointed but hey it will make a great dinner party story.

Its all getting a bit silly and nasty and has given the trolls a chance to have some fun, any chance of moving it so we can get on with enjoying the comping again, after all advents are on there way

I don't enter holiday comps so the only email that I got from Boots that day was 'sorry you didn't win the toothbrush'! All this talk of compensation and post-traumatic stress disorder (I mean, really?) - for an hour or so, a lot of people thought they were going to Barcelona for 2 days.....a whole 2 days! If anyone gets an official diagnosis of PTSD for that, I'll send them to Barcelona myself!

    Good grief!
