Hello all,
I had a car loan with the above and had a couple of late payments for which I was charged £26 each time. Can I claim back on this? or is the banks "impasse" not allow me too.

Righteo, well the reason that you were charged for each Direct Debit failure is because it's a direct debit agreement that you signed up for. As for paying by cheque, I've never been made aware of this, or even heard of this. =S

I was wondering that if we can apply for our Banks back why does nobody say anything about claiming back them charges?

Hi all looking for some advice- i am new to this site but it has inspired me to get on and reclaim my charges seeing other peoples success stories.

I have already written to one credit card company and in the process of getting past statements from another. (I think my credit card charges in total for the past 6 years are around 500-600 pounds)- and i am just waiting for my bank statements for the past 6 years aswell- it is going to be worth spending the £10 data protection fee if the OFT vote in the favour of us poor consumers!

looking through my experian credit report ( to see what other lenders i could possibly approach) i relised that i was charged an awful lot for missing or making late payments on a finance agreement on a car- the account has been settled an closed for the past 2 years? but is it possible to use the unfair charges case against this type of agreement?

has anyone tried this before?

I believe you can claim on that type of agreement. I'm not 100% sure though so wait until someone who knows comes along.

I did some searching and came up with a few other people that were trying the same thing against the same finance lender!

a few success stories but alot of people saying that they are having difficulties getting information from the company as it megered with another finance company last year- i have seen 8 posts that say that due to the merger the current company can no longer provide information for credit files that predate 2007?
surley they must have to keep credit files for longer than that?>

Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone has used the FLA to claim back Credit/Store card charges and if so what the sucess rate has been?

I have been trying to reclaim charges with one of my store card companies and have been through the letter sending process without success. I then forwarded my claim to the ombudsman who couldn't help as the store card company did not become part of the ombudsman until April 2007. I have been directed to the FLA and my complaint is now with them but I can't seem to find any posts regarding them.

Would be great to hear from anyone who has been through the claims process with the FLA.
