I'm a bit lost, How do you find out if you were sold the policy without any paperwork? I don't have any of my paperwork from when I was with my previous bank, but I'm almost 100% certain th\t I recognise that company name....not from all of the press coverage recently!....and I'm sure I must have been paying out as well.
Theres no way they can contact me as I have moved 4 times since then, do I just write to them to enquire...or will I get fobbed off with an automatic you were not sold this policy letter?
I know I should have kept these records....but things happen!
Best bet is to give them call they can see if you have/ have had a policy with them and advise you who sold it to you0 -
i have just written to them regarding ID fraud insurance I think I was misold. Long story short, we were burgled, had wallet stolen, phone CPP to cancel all card and was told I should take out ID fraud aswell. I said that my banks would cover any fraudulent activity but was bluntly told they wouldn't so not knowing if this was right or wrong I reluctantly agreed and guess what, 6 yearly later I haven't suffered any fraud so have cancelled the policy and complained0

Hi
I have a copy of my CPP registration form, with my policy number on it, I've had a policy since 2009. Cant remember, why I got this policy or who recommended it. Can I still claim?

Has anybody received a phonecall regarding a government scheme designed to claim back CCP for free?
A friend received a call yesterday where the caller claimed to provide a free service that would facilitate a claim without any cost to the claimant, obvious or hidden. My friend told them that they did not believe them and that they we just another PPI type scammer. The caller said they would probably regret not taking up the offer and that there would likely be a lot of press coverage of the service in the near future...
I'm sorry the details are a little fuzzy but as I said, I did not receive the call. I would just like to know if anyone can add some factual feedback, i.e. personal experience of such a call or knowledge of such a scheme.

Is their a template letter floating around regarding making a claim?Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0

Yes a Template letter would be great!
So is there much chance with a CardGuard policy taken out in 1998 with HSBC(Midland). I got it with my Student Acounnt\credit card for free for 3 years then started getting charged.(Still have it now!)
Managed to reclaim my PPI but at first they refused as they claimed to not keep records that far back, I had to send photocopies of every statement for about 5 years. So I'm thinking they may claim the same again.
I've a feeling though I've not held onto any of very old paperwork for the Cardguard policy as they didn't seem as important.0 -
I've already got money back off them with just a phone call.
My father has been with them for years and couple of years ago I told him it wasn't worth paying for what they provided and so he cancelled. Recently he was checking his card statement and found they hadn't cancelled it. So I called them and told them that had been cancelled and I added that I believed he had been mis-sold the policy. They said they would deal with the cancellation and said about the mis-selling it would be dealt with when the ruling came out.
Then 3 weeks after my phone call my father received a letter from them and 3 cheques totalling £550. This was for the cancellation and the mis-selling.0 -
I phoned CPP a couple of weeks ago to cancel after i'd read what it was i was paying for. They didnt blink when i said i'd like to cancel and i was ready to have a fight.
Admittedly it's not a hugely expensive policy which is why i said OK. Now i want my money back for the last 5 years.
I got a letter from CPP this morning telling me that they had been ordered to write to me. I'm to expect a further letter telling me what i should do if i think i was mis-sold.0 -

I've received a letter from CPP saying that I *may* have been mis-sold. Honestly, didnt even remember having this, but I think I recall it.
The process outlined in the letter sounds long-winded, and will several take months, and will involve a VOTE to decide IF they will pay out.
Should I write to them directly, asking them for my money back? OR will I just be fobbed off and told to wait until the process is over?0
