Is this normal?
Should it take this long?
How do i respond?
The letters saying that they are investigating and will reply within 8 weeks are little more than acknowledgements of receipt and attempts to make you give up and go away. The 8 weeks only applies if you refer your claim to the Financial Ombudsman.
Your first claim letter should give them 14 days to reply. If you have not received an acceptable reply by your deadline, send them the second “Letter Before Action” letter.

Hi, i got a letter literally saying the same thing this morning from The Woolwich.
They wanted until the 17th July to resolve this matter. I've been advised from this site that i should basically wait until the date they've set. If i have no reply or an unsatisfied response to do step two threatening to take them to court! I think i'm gonna do this. If i hear nothing by the 17th though i'm sending the next letter out straight away.shev:cool:0 -
Hi everyone
I am a very new member, and wondered if any of you nice people out there could help?
After requesting my charges with interest from Natwest, I have now received a letter from Natwest saying they are "currently considering my claim and will be able to respond withing 6-7 weeks, but will endeavour to do so sooner if we are able to"
Should I accept this time limit of 6-7 weeks?Has anybody else had a letter of similiar content?
Thanks guys.0 -
