  • Hi,

I'm sorry that I've been AWOL for a long time, life has got on top of me to say the least.

However, welcome to the newbies :D

    Hey,

Thank god I'm not the only one who does this!!! Most of my friends think I'm mad as I sweep all the change out of my purse once a week into a jar and won't spend £2 coins to the point I'd break a note to pay for something.:rotfl:

I've been saving £2 coins for over 2 years now and think my jar is at around £1,200 and isn't even full yet.

Our family and friends are used to us by now. In fact, when they have to give us money for something, they will deliberately give us £2 coins. If I see someone in the office with a £2 coin, I generally buy it!

OH decided to start collecting £2 coins when they were issued and we have never spent one in all that time. Over the years they have been cashed in and the money put towards New York holiday spending money.

We will be off to NYC next month, and I think we have about £700 in the pot to spend on whatever we fancy.

I tried to buy my son's stash of £2 coins, but he refused, saying they were for the honeymoon fund - well at least he has good teachers.

    Hello there

I really need to start saving for my car road tax next year and would love to join this thread to do so. I would like to aim for £250 which I will use to buy stamps to pay for the tax from the PO each time I reach £20. I don't see many £2 coins though so it may be a challenge. Just need to mooch around the house and find something to hide them in now.

  • I'd like to join please if I may?

I'd like to save them either to open an emergency fund or just put them in my savings.

I'm going to talk to my mum when she gets home to ask her
to help me open an emergency fund.

    I've already got £4 in £2 coins

would i be able to make a £1 savers challenge?
or would that be almost like copying this?

  • Hi all! :hello: Someone else who's been AWOL for a while though still collecting and updating my sig. Well done to everyone, some hard-core collecting going on here! I'm soooo close to my target for 1 Dec but a change in circumstances means I'm not using cash on a daily basis as much as I used to so may not make it. I haven't banked in ages either so I'm having a think about a new target date etc.

Keep them rolling in peeps - you're doing great!

    Thanks for the welcome.

I'm still looking for my first coin. The all seem to have gone into hiding.
