Welcome to the £2 Savers Club ready for the start of a brand new year.
A huge thanks to Observer for running the 2012 thread and for doing such a fantastic job :T (hope you don't mind but I borrowed your post?)
Soooo…..
The aim is to collect every £2 coin you can lay your hands on! It is entirely up to you whether you want to:
A) Save for a particular length of time e.g. monthly or till December 2012,
Save for a particular reason e.g. to pay the car insurance, to pay for a family holiday or to buy birthday presents throughout the year,
Save for a particular reason e.g. to pay the car insurance, to pay for a family holiday or to buy birthday presents throughout the year,
C) Save until you have a specific amount e.g. £20 or £100 or a pot full!
D) Save for any other reason you can think of...
You are also welcome to do what you wish with the money. Either bank it as you please or at the end of the year or spend it as required.
Above all else remember this is a fun thread, but the aim of this website is to SAVE, so any encouragement, comments or help you can give to others are always very welcome.
Anyone who wishes to join (or be removed though I hope that isn’t the case!) is always very welcome, please just ask and I will add you as soon as I can and allocate you a number. Also if anyone wants to add anything to the list such as a target or a date to aim for etc. then let me know and I will add it. However there is no pressure to do this as many people just wish to be able to save as and when they can.
So that’s it. Start saving, comment regularly and hunt for those £2s. Any questions or comments please ask

            Hi,
I already save £2 coins in a Rupert the Bear money box,
after I've shoogled and shook it and squeezed in as much as I can it holds about £260, so I take the £200 to the bank and change into 2 of these,
which I then hoard, handy for putting into special cards, for special friends.
Oh, and the £60 spare goes back into Rupert to give him a boost start.
I usually manage to fill him twice a year, infact just about ready for an empty.
I'm not going to join, but good luck to you all, and try not to keep dipping into the pot, it's worthwhile letting it build up.
For those of you weak of will, you can get savings jars that you need to smash to get the money out, or tins (£ shops) that you need to open with tin opener, so maybe that will help you.
 Good luck, happy saving. :j0

Hello. I was in the 2012 challenge but got lost a bit along the way. I would really like to join the 2013 challenge please. I am completely focussed this time as I am taking Little Miss Gap to LA in 2014 and starting the saving for that in January 2013 so all £2's saved will go towards spending money. Thanks Observer, for heading up the 2012 challenge and thanks PMO2 for the 2013 challenge Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000 Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
 Mortgage today = £161,690.76
