I hear on the grapevine, that all Government services, are being transferred to this online service..So your Granny collecting her pension, someone going for a council house, paying you Council tax, is directed thru this 'Gateway', and need a user ID to log in.
Then they sack all council/private workers to save money (hence why they have been on strike recently)..
But the dole 'cleverly', state use library computers....unfortunately those libraries have been closed down, I presume dss centres are setting up an area for people to search online, as they removed the jobpoints and desks?
Classic tale of the Government - Give with one hand, take with the other....
I'm begging to believe that when the Queen dies, there might be a revolution, nobody wants Charles, they prefer William, the recent mini riots at Football, what's that about? Fighting amongst yourselves? Better weather brings the riot'ers out, I presume come the summer, we will have Civil war.
The Government just can't seem to make a decision, then u-turn on it, but I believe bedroom tax, is a tax too far. Middle classes rising up. Those that get tax relief, when they don't actually need it, and the Elderly, getting Winter payments, when they are loaded anyway....
Discuss..it's a forum.
For my 2p I don't think the bedroom tax goes far enough. They are state owned houses. The few council houses round here are all bar one blocked by OAPs. We are desperately short of families and may loose the school. The nimbys don't want new house built but again the majority of private houses are older couples. And we have nearly 100 1-2 bedroom flats for sale within 3 miles. So I'd go as far to say we need to force the nimbys to move to the right sized house.0 -
Fruitloops wrote: »Agreed. I also informed the advisor of the problems I'd had with the site, how it hasn't recorded my 'activity history' since the 15th March. He told me there are a lot of problems with the site (oh really, never would have guessed) and that it goes down often. Five minutes later he's telling me if there's no record on there but I'm claiming to have done searches, then there's a doubt and that can cause problems. Didn't offer a solution other than to write everything down, which I do anyway, but surely they could say I'm lying if they wanted to?!
Oh and he said "are you sure you're signing into the site?" How else would I be checking my inaccurate activity history? -__-
Why dont you untick the box so they cannot see your account.
Just write everything down.
Dont give them an excuse to sanction you.0 -

It is currently unticked, I just mentioned the issues with the site to the advisor when he asked me if I used it. However, he did tell me to tick the box when I went home so they can see it, which I haven't done. We'll see what the reaction is when he sees I've left it unticked. He implied, though didn't outright say, that it was necessary.
Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.0 -

I don't reallt get the point you are trying to make; on one hand you are saying there is little council owned property in your area that is affected? And most people are NIMBIES (Not in my back yard), owner/occupiers, that don't want new housing built?
So you would prefer to turf out a resident in their property, that they occupied for 40-50 years, and call it home, when a private residence with maybe 4-5 bedrooms doesn't get this tax.
I don't know of any property of a reasonable size, ie a terrace..not to have at least two bedrooms, that's why they are called two up-two down. So why should people in social housing/council housing/subsidised housing have to pay this extra tax, when they live in the smallest available housing available already?
Where do you want them to live? In a shed at the bottom of your garden, as many Polish migrants do?
Why should a rich couple live in a house with 4-5+ bedrooms not be taxed? Or be asked to move? Are they using those rooms? No. Another tax and attack on the poor.
If I was able; I'd take a lodger in, to use the spare room, that's full of junk, but according to the Government, that is not allowed.0 -

It's your account & your choice.
If the advisor gets stroppy ask him to put it in writing, so you have in writing & can check his instruction with a manager/DWP head office & see what his reaction is.0 -
Unknown company

Is this another case of an 'unknown' company stealing job specs off the net to make up jobs and do what with the details that they get? We’ve had to remove your signature. At my last signing on interview I had given up resisting and set up universal account and finally ticked all the boxes against all my instincts but perhaps I am weak, my job advisors attitude changed straight away, suddenly the courses she was sending me on are not really needed, she feels i am very close to a job, she wont need to see me till mid june just come in and sign till then or till you get fixed up. I am not doing anything different I just ticked the boxes???0

Sorry you were weak but you have now given them more excuses to sanction you.
Be strong and untick the box.
Stand up for yourself or we will all suffer for it in the future.0 -

Be strong, untick the box, and gain great pleasure when you look them in the eyes and tell them they're not having access0
