Why confused? You said apply direct so the agency, MONSTER lose out! They wont lose anything at all!

So I can register at an office of Monster and they will put me forward for a job?

Can I do that here? http://www.monster.co.uk/?disRe=true

Monster is a website for job adverts not an agency

Tell me where you get it from that they are an agency? You mean recruitment agency?

    They are a JOB BOARD!
    .

And your point is? Linked to the DSS. Most links refer to agency jobs, but, please tell me what I don't already know. They are a website, that advertises agencies, that is payed millions from the Government, to advertise jobs; what is your point?

I presume that you confuse life with living?

My point is what you have said is wrong!

You said Monster ARE AN AGENCY!!

Now you are agreeing they are JUST a website!?

Please tell me HOW they lose out for jobs advertised by companies on the UJM website if you as a candidate go direct to the company via their website and not apply via the UJM site?

That is what you have said and I have not confused anyone at all. You have said twice that Monster are an agency!

You are the one confused as a job board is far from being an agency

The Monster team who run Monster the site have been employed to run the UJM site, that's all

How can the jobcentre allow kleenze to advertise their so called jobs there? they cannot guarantee NMW for all the hours you need to put in trudging the street posting brochures and alienating neighbours people in general. I know it's self employed but really do people actually spend money using the brochures?

Companies upload their own ads, which I think is ridiculous since anybody can put an advert on there it seems.

Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.

And part 5 of the terms of service absolves the DWP of responsibility if you get scammed. And if you're mandated to register then you have to accept this condition.

I like the idea that any employer can post jobs for free. I'm sick of hearing about the hidden jobs market (employment fairy tales), but they really should get around to doing some vetting for these vacancies. Especially when you're snooping on those who've registered because you like to keep back the employer contact details.

Hidden job market - such as LinkedIn etc

The JC job sites have always been free. Never attracts large companies in London only tin pot ones.

My WP's jobsearch coach always describes it like:
Employers who need staff but give out jobs to people who apply before the vacancy is listed.
Employers who need staff but are undecided about hiring until you apply.
Employers who need staff but cannot afford to advertise

But for the reasons you mentioned, there is very little to support the size of, if not the existence of, such a thing.
To be honest, I always let it go over my head, the coach always says things like "I sent someone down to the retail park with a load of C.Vs and they got a job. They weren't going because of a vacancy, they were being proactive."
Not seeing an advert isn't the same as it not existing though.

  • If a employer cannot afford to advertise a job, Will they be able to afford to pay the wage for the job?.
